Lowton Church of England High School is a community where we are passionate about equipping young people to make a positive difference in the world.  We are a vibrant and inclusive 11-16 comprehensive school of around 780 students, with an established reputation as a welcoming and forward-thinking learning community.

The Governors and staff of Lowton Church of England High School are committed to the provision of a high quality education in a Christian context. We aim to provide a school where we can live out our ethos of Caring, Learning and Succeeding on a daily basis and let our light shine. At the heart of the commitment is the notion of the uniqueness and infinite worth of the individual, that every person is valuable in the eyes of God and that they are, indeed, the light of the world.

Kieran Larkin joined in September 2020, with extensive Headship and school improvement experience, and has set about clarifying a mission-led, values-led ambitious curriculum vision that defines all that we want for our students.

Our ambition is not rooted in what an inspection framework is looking for, but comes from our underpinning Christian principles of caring, learning and succeeding so that every child regardless of their background or context will flourish, thrive and succeed in their time with us.

However, it is a reflection of our approach and commitment to excellence that our recent inspection - March 2023 - graded us 'Good' in all areas and recognised the strength of our vision, ambition, curriculum and leadership as a team. We do all that we do ‘through the lens of the child’.

We are a school on a mission – a Christian mission as well as an educational one. In fact, it is our firm belief that the combination of the two will have a transforming effect on the life of each child.

To learn more about the life of our school we invite you to explore our Facebook page, where we share daily updates about life in our school, read our website and visit us where you will be welcomed by friendly staff and polite students.
