Job overview

We require seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant as soon as possible to join this Outstanding (OfSTED April 2011), lively and successful 11-18 Secondary School.   The successful applicant will be required to support a student with an EHCP both in class and during break times. You will work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff. You must be compassionate, dedicated and caring.  

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate initiative and creativity to adapt tasks to suit the student’s needs and to ensure the student achieves their potential.  The successful candidate must have the capacity to be flexible and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

A desire to make a positive contribution to the life of the school and an enjoyment of working with children are essential.  A good level of education is required, with Numeracy and Literacy skills to GCSE or equivalent (A*-C). Any further qualification in English would be an advantage.

Bishop Heber High School is a mixed, non-denominational comprehensive school with a sixth form, there are 1280 students on roll aged 11-18. It is situated in the picturesque village of Malpas. Location

Malpas is a large village placed deep in the south Cheshire countryside. There are several pubs in the village as well as good quality local shopping. Malpas also hosts a regular Farmers’ Market. If you are looking to explore, Malpas is a great base for sightseeing with Cheshire, Shropshire and North Wales just a stone’s throw away. Practically on your doorstep is the famous city of Chester, you can reach the city in 30 minutes and explore all the historic sites.
