Nexus School is an ambitious school for children and young people aged 2-19 with profound, severe and complex needs, many of whom have a diagnosis of autism.

In September 2017, we moved into an amazing state of the art multi-million pound purpose built school, complete with woodland walk and life skills house based in South Tonbridge. Nexus invests in employing the best staff and in training them to achieve. We strive to engage staff who are self-motivated, professional and ambitious.

We are members of KASS (Kent Association of Special Schools) which comprises of 24 special schools across Kent and are also part of the Collaborative Learning Alliance of Special Schools (CLASS) Multi-teaching School Alliance.

We are looking for exceptional people to join our team who are able to demonstrate belief in our school culture and ethos; have a passion for working with children and young people with special needs as well as creativity and energy. In return, we are able to offer friendly, enthusiastic and delightful pupils and a committed, supportive and motivated staff team who are dedicated in providing the best education and support.

We have high expectations for our pupils, striving to ensure that they all achieve their maximum potential; celebrating difference and encouraging curiosity and creativity. We work hard to ensure that their individual needs, interests and abilities are met and that they are resilient and make positive life choices.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join the school at a very exciting time when we are expanding provision and pupil numbers and where no day is ever the same!

Whilst previous experience of working in within a SEN environment would be desirable, excellent teaching assistant skills and the right motivation, personal qualities and levels of resilience are just as important.

Nexus School is committed to the safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
