Smallwood Primary School is an expanding school, with a Language Resource Base and Children’s Centre, conveniently situated close to Earlsfield mainline station and Tooting Broadway underground. We are a rapidly improving school and need enthusiastic and committed teaching assistants to continue our forward momentum. Our most recent OFSTED inspection (2014) describes us as ‘a good school with outstanding leadership’.
We are passionate about the education of our children, continuous professional development of all staff and a strong partnership with parents and the wider community.
Additionally the school has a provision for 40 statemented pupils with communication and language disorders including Autism. It is important to us that all adults contribute to the growth and development of every child and support their individual needs. We are currently looking to expand our highly motivated and enthusiastic team of support staff.
You will be a calm, patient and resourceful individual who will be able to respond positively to the challenges of working with pupils of all abilities within a mainstream class. You will also join our team of lunchtime supervisors to ensure the safety, well-being and good behaviour of pupils during the lunchtime break.
You will be positive and enthusiastic in your approach and will seek to provide the opportunity for the children they are working with to achieve their full potential, both academically and socially. A minimum of G.C.S.E. grade C or above in English and Maths and NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or relevant experience is required.
