Job overview

As Team Leader of Maths, you will assist the Curriculum Manager in leading, managing and monitoring the curriculum area, ensuring that achievement rates, including GCSE high grades, meet or exceed targets. You will ensure high quality student learning in GCSE and Functional Skills lessons, including assisting the Curriculum Manager in carrying out learning walks, and coordinate schemes of work, assessment schedules and student monitoring.


We’re looking for an individual who holds a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and who has excellent teaching skills in Maths. Recognised as a good or better teacher, you will have experience of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at-risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential and have strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area. You’ll bring good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills, with good attention to detail, and have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and implications for teaching and learning strategies. Experience of leading / managing a team is desirable.

Carshalton College is a co-educational further education college based in Sutton. It is a non-denominational school.

The college has been an education provider for over 60 years. It is a major provider of full-time, part-time, apprenticeships, access, undergraduate and supported learning courses.
