Job overview

A vacancy has arisen for a Technician to  support Design & Technology and Art Departments.  Full time hours preferred (37 hours per week term time only) but part time hours could be considered.

Main duties of the post will include:

• Preparing classrooms and workshops for use by staff and students, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment

• Assisting and supporting teaching staff in delivering practical activities in lessons

• Working with teaching staff in the creation of teaching resources and materials

• Maintaining, cleaning and repairing equipment (seeking specialist assistance when necessary) in order to ensure safe and efficient operation

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, confident in the use of technical and practical equipment and with and interest in design, technology and craftsmanship.  In return, we can offer you the full support of a dedicated and committed team of staff, a supportive induction programme and ongoing professional development, plus the opportunity to work in a developing academy in a beautiful area of the South West.  On 1 September 2021 we joined the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership.  This is a highly successful Multi Academy Trust, often considered the ‘market leader’ in the South West for school improvement.
