Technological and Applied Studies (TAS) is one of the fastest-growing and most innovative subject areas. The TAS Faculty at Saint Ignatius’ College delivers a variety of subjects with a strong emphasis towards Engineering, Design and Technology and Timber and Furniture. At the College we are working towards a future of Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based student projects which include the latest in modern technologies such as 3D printers, robotics, laser cutters and CNC Mills, as well as keeping traditional timber and joinery methods.

The College is seeking to appoint a full time, ongoing innovative, engaging and collaborative TAS teacher to commence Term 1, 2022 with the ability to teach the following subjects:    

  • Stage 4 Technology Mandatory      
  • Stage 5 Industrial Technology Timber      
  • Stage 5 Industrial Technology Engineering 

and who specialises in      

  • Stage 6 Industrial Technology - Timber Products and Furniture Technologies and/or     
  • Stage 6 Engineering Studies

The successful applicant will:

• hold the appropriate teaching qualifications and be eligible to teach in NSW

• be an outstanding classroom teacher of TAS in two or more of the areas listed above

• demonstrate an understanding of and a commitment to the Mission and Values of the College

• be enthusiast to teach STEM

• be committed to continuous improvement and professional development

• demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• demonstrate collaborative practices and a commitment to working as part of a team

• be willing to contribute to the Co-curriculum Program at the College

• hold a current Working With Children Check
