Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the following position: 

Temporary Full Time Teaching Position 

2019 School Year. 


Applicants must: 

  • have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate Religious Education qualifications;
  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school;
  • have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher; 
  • be willing to teach any class level from K-6; 
  • be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, in a coteaching capacity, dedicated to providing quality learning and teaching in partnership with the parent community; 
  • Must have NSW Working with Children Check 


Please nominate three (3) referees, one of whom is the Parish Priest from your usual place of worship.

St Joseph’s Primary School is an independent co-educational primary school catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Located in Woodburn, New South Wales, St Joseph’s has approximately 151 students enrolled and is dedicated in both academic excellence and development of Christian values. 

This year, St Joseph’s celebrates 104 years of Catholic education. With strong links to the Parish, St Joseph’s aims to involve students through a range of activities, including 2.5 hours of religious education each week.

St Joseph’s has a broad range of facilities to maximise teaching and engaged learning experiences. The school is thoroughly resourced and classrooms are bright, engaging and spacious, and are equipped with modern technology and teaching materials such as networked computers in all classes, Interactive whiteboards and net book computers for classroom use. Facilities for sporting, cultural and other co-curricular activities provide a number of outlets for students to enhance their educational experiences.

Curriculum

The school offers a comprehensive curriculum based on the NSW Board of Studies. The six Key Learning Areas are English, Mathematics, Science and technology, HSIE, PDHPE and Creative Arts. Religious education is an additional Key Learning Area for students. Lessons are tailored to meet the specific needs and interests of individual students and ICT is incorporated in teaching and practical learning across the curriculum. The opportunity to participate in co-curricular activities enhances the schooling experience of all students.
