Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the following position: Temporary Teaching Position K- 6 for 2019 0.6 (3 days): Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday
Applicants must:
- Have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate Religious Education qualifications;
- Have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the parish school.
The successful candidate will be a highly professional, growth-oriented practitioner with a demonstrated ability to:
- Teach the N.S.W. Science and Technology K-6 syllabus;
- Have a commitment to professional growth in accordance with the National Professional Standards for Teachers;
- Use data to inform practice;
- Assess and provide feedback on student learning;
- Implement positive and supportive behaviour management practices;
- Be willing to teach any year level from K-6;
- Use digital technology effectively and creatively to support student learning;
- A Current NSW Working with Children check;
- Hold current NESA Teacher accreditation.
Highly desirable - Shows an interest in:
- Programming and teaching High Potential Learners (HPL) - Gifted and Talented students;
- Completing the GERRIC's Mini Certificate of Gifted Education (Mini-COGE). Completing the MiniCOGE will contribute 16 hours of NESA Registered Professional Development, addressing Standards 1.1.2, 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 3.2.2 and 6.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.

Ideally, applicants will be a committed Catholic who worships regularly in their local Catholic community, who will support the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church’s work in School.

Holy Family School, Skennars Head is K-6 a Parish primary school servicing the East Ballina and Lennox Head areas in Skennars Head, New South Wales. The Parish is situated within the Diocese of Lismore.
The school was established by Richard Foley in 1997, whose vision was that it would be “a place where everyone is seen as a person created in the image of God and treated as a person of unique and enormous value."

The school provides a curriculum based on the Board of Studies and Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) syllabuses for Primary Education.
