About Us 

Clyst Vale Community College is a secondary and further education institution with Math, Science and Computing Academy status. Providing high quality education, life skills and vital learning experiences to student aged from 11 to 18, we are committed to providing the engaged, enlightened and well-educated citizens of tomorrow. 

Pastoral care is an acknowledged strength of the College and, whilst behaviour at our most recent Ofsted inspection was judged as good, we believe it can still be better. All staff at the College are responsible for pastoral care. This is led by the Deputy Principal, with specific Pastoral responsibilities. 

We are a Rights Respecting School and an integral part of our ethos is to ensure the Right of all to have an uninterupted education. We have spent a considerable amount of time reviewing all aspects of our provision and particularly our behaviour policy. This new position at the College is integral to realising this vision and we are excited about the impact that the successful candidate can have on the lives of our young people at Clyst Vale. 

The Role 

Coordinating The Bridge on a daily basis will involve working on your own initiative, with high levels of autonomy. You will be well supported in doing this by a wider team of people, including SLT, Head of Schools and Tutors. 

We are looking for someone who, in addition to meeting the criteria in the person specification attached, is equally excited by this new opportunity. Someone who is a team player, calm under pressure, flexible, with strong organisational skills, a good sense of humour and can work independently. 

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can act as a role model to students and build relationships quickly, whilst maintaining a professional approach. 

About you 

To be considered as our new Bridge Co-ordinator you must have: 

• Excellent communication skills 

• Great empathy and the ability to liaise with vulnerable students 

• A resilient personality 

• The confidence to handle difficult situations and manage de-escalations 

• The ability to liaise with teachers, other members of staff, and parents where required

Clyst Vale Community College is a mixed, non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for students aged 11-18. It is located in Broadclyst, near Exeter, in the county of Devon, and has about 900 pupils.

The academy is operated by the Clyst Vale Academy Trust and is specialist in science, maths and ICT.
