Following an increasing demand from our academies and our development of a therapeutic services team, we are pleased to be recruiting a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) to join our strong, highly regarded and supportive team of education professionals who are part of the wider school improvement team within the MAT.

The school improvement team has developed over the past twelve months and we have recently begun to explore our therapeutic offer to FMAT students. The MAT has made the decision to fund and bring ‘in house’ therapeutic services to include SaLT and EP (Educational Psychology) to work alongside the central and academy level pastoral and SEND teams.

The MAT has made additional investment in these services to increase capacity in response to rising demand, to support student wellbeing and to add additional support to our multi-disciplinary team. The school improvement team are involved with strategic SEND and Inclusion development work and we are looking to build on this further with the development of our mental health network and increased training offer, with the aim of becoming a regional trailblazer to establish mental health support teams within MATs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist who is committed to inclusion, working with others, and determined to improve experiences and outcomes for children, young people and their families.

We are looking to appoint a Speech and Language Therapist who:

• is creative, enthusiastic and passionate about what applied psychology can achieve

• enjoys working with children, young people, their families and schools

• is able to build good relationships and work well with others

• is proactive, dynamic and flexible with great communication skills, both oral and written

• is committed to early identification, overcoming barriers, promoting inclusion and improving the lives and wellbeing of all children, young people and their families

We offer:

• a supportive induction, regular high-quality supervision

• excellent peer support

• regular bespoke and general CPD and training opportunities through our MAT wide professional learning offer

• excellent ICT facilities

• opportunities to develop specialist interests

• Membership of LGPS

• A growing range of employee perks and benefits including salary sacrifice opportunities

Fairfax Multi Academy Trust is a family of schools aiming to develop articulate, resilient and ambitious students, regardless of background, with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to excel in modern Britain.   We want the very best for all our students across the trust because we believe that demographics should not determine destiny.

We have over 3000 students across our four campuses around the city of Birmingham and almost half of those students are eligible for free school meals. We are looking for dedicated professionals who want to take on the challenge of eradicating educational disadvantage: why should a child's life chances be decided by their postcode or background? We believe that every child deserves the same high standard of education to change their lives.

Each of our four campuses across the city of Birmingham has a traditional approach with old-fashioned values where courtesy, manners and respect are central . You can find live vacancies by clicking on our campus pages below:

Smith's Wood Academy

Each academy is an environment where excellence is a daily pursuit that is expected through high standards of presentation and quality of work. We believe there is dignity in hard work and our dedicated staff go the extra mile for our students to not only ensure that they succeed academically, but develop a depth of character through their everyday and extra-curricular experiences. We expect every child to challenge themselves, fostering our students' aspirations, supporting them to overcome obstacles to pursue their goals and achieve their ambitious aims in life.

We are looking for more dedicated professionals to join our family to contribute to our mission, exuding and extending our values.

Our core values and beliefs:

· Excellence – We strive for the highest quality to ensure excellent outcomes

· Dedication – We believe there is dignity in hard work and effort

· Ambition – We want the very best for our students
