We’re now looking to appoint a Tutor / Assessor to train and assess students on College programmes and in particular, contribute to the Carpentry curriculum and it’s work with delivering NVQ’s, technical certificates and Apprenticeships in Carpentry.
We’re looking for an individual who holds an NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry (or equivalent) and who has significant experience within the Carpentry industry. We’d like you to have experience of teaching / training and assessing NVQ’s in Carpentry and have experience of a range of teaching strategies that meet individual learning needs. With the ability to work effectively as part of a team, you will have knowledge of the National Vocational Qualification framework and code of practice of assessing the Apprentice framework or standards in the Carpentry industry and hold a recognised Assessor Award.
Those who have evidence of registration with a professional body such as JIB, NIC or ECA and who have a Health and Safety qualification are highly desirable, however this isn’t essential. A teaching qualification would also be advantageous – those who do not currently hold one are expected to participate in staff development in order to achieve this.
