Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK.  With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Priory College Swindon provides residential and day placements for students with specific social and communication difficulties, particularly autism and Asperger Syndrome, including co-morbid conditions, sexualised and anti-social behaviour. The independent specialist college has a clear focus on improving employability and employment outcomes for young people aged 16 to 25 years old.

Priory College Swindon incorporates a number of community-based settings, including residential homes, teaching space and therapy rooms. We also enjoy close working relationships with a number of partner colleges, which allows us to provide a comprehensive curriculum with an exceptionally broad range of subjects and courses on offer.

The college is located in a large, vibrant town, which allows our students to access a wide range of facilities and amenities. The local Swindon mainline railway station has direct links to London Paddington, as well as a number of other nearby cities, including Bath, Bristol and Cardiff. A nearby coach station and good links to the M4 motorway ensures Priory College Swindon is easily accessible.

Our approach enables young people to develop confidence and skills they need to progress towards adulthood, including further or higher education.

We are seeking to work with experienced Tutors to provide one-to-one input, pastoral care and academic support to our students, with the ability to teach general GCSE and A Level's on a range of topic including Maths, English, IT and Science.

Some of the other requirements of the role include:

The successful applicant will be comfortable with preparing plans to deliver to small groups as well as individual lessons for skills for life and curriculum subjects, observing, recording and reporting learner’s individual development.

Develop appropriate targets/care plans for each learner and ensure that relevant documentation is produced and updated to trace/record progress in line with relevant external bodies.

Deliver lessons which provide activities, experiences and resources that enhance and progress learning and development with a view to developing knowledge, independence and other skills.

Observe and monitor the well being of learners ensuring that any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to more senior staff and documented as appropriate.

Provide general support to learners when required offering guidance and advice.

When appropriate/necessary support learners in mainstream education.

Experience of working with young people with ASD and complex mental health problems would be beneficial, with the ability to work in a flexible manner to adapt to individual students needs is essential. In addition to the above subjects the ability to deliver functional Maths and English would be beneficial.
