From January 2019 or sooner
Thomas Middlecott Academy is a happy, focused school community in the village of Kirton, near Boston. We’re on a positive trajectory of transformation, with a new Principal taking up post in September 2018; and we’re now looking for a high-calibre Vice-Principal to join our leadership team and ensure we deliver the very best education for our 450 pupils.
Our expectations – and our standards – are high, and the entire school community has risen to the shared improvement challenge. Excellent behaviour and attendance are evidence of the commitment of our pupils; our culture of enjoyment, engagement and challenge has proven to be highly motivating, and enrichment opportunities – including sports, debating, and music – are enthusiastically taken up by our diverse student body. Teaching and learning are being similarly transformed, with the proportion of good or better lessons recently improving dramatically. And our hard work has not gone unnoticed: we are highly regarded by our partner primary schools, and 2018’s year 7 intake was heavily oversubscribed.
This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious, talented candidates who can work with the grain of our improvement journey, taking responsibility for pupil progress, behaviour and welfare, and personal development. Ready to be a visible, highly effective member of the Senior Leadership Team, with impressive ambition, focus and passion, you will already have held a leadership role and be able to demonstrate the real and lasting impact you’ve made. Most importantly, you will share our deep commitment to securing the very best outcomes for our pupils, and bring the resilience, determination and professional ability to deliver them.
