Job overview

Help us make learning central to every child’s life.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, resourceful and strategic Vice Principal who has the ability to lead from the front, develop leadership in others and effect rapid and sustainable change in raising the standards of student attainment and personal development.

Working closely with the Principal, you will help build the commitment of all stakeholders to a culture of constant improvement and with a flair for creative leadership that will put learning first and ensure an outstanding education for our students.

You will be an outstanding teacher and leader with a proven track record of impacting positively on progress and attainment in your current role, who can inspire others to create learning opportunities that support all our students to reach their potential.

If successful, you will work alongside the Principal to develop and deliver outstanding provision in all areas. This role will ideally suit a candidate who aspires to headship or a system leadership role.

At Pool Hayes Academy, we’re passionate about involving our pupils in everything we do, so our House and Student Councils are active in making suggestions and sharing ideas. Our academy ethos is known as the RAPS, which stands for Responsibility – Aspiration – Perseverance – Success, and these are the qualities we wish to instil in every young person.

To help our students get ahead, we participate in a number of cutting-edge learning initiatives. The Doddle app allows pupils to manage their homework with input from their parents, whilst the Linguascope language learning platform aims to give them the vocabulary to do business in today’s globalised world. Meanwhile, the MyMaths and MathsWatch initiatives sharpen their numeracy – the bedrock for many commercial careers.

The other thing that really sets us apart is our membership of Academy Transformation Trust. By sharing best practice across a substantial network of academies, we can develop highly effective, student-centred approaches to teaching that will keep us at the forefront of teaching and learning.

Established in 2011, Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) is an exciting and successful family of 22 primary and secondary academies and further education providers, arranged in two regions across the Midlands, East Anglia and Essex. We proudly shape the futures of over 12,000 children and adult learners. Our academies are performing well, from starting points well below national expectations. Most of our academies are now at least Ofsted Good and standards have continually improved over recent years.

You have to see our amazing campus for yourself to believe what we have achieved. Please get in touch with to make an appointment to visit the school.
