We are looking for someone who is looking for a new challenge whilst being fully motivated and dedicated to teaching. Our supportive caring ethos nurtures the development of both children and staff

Thursday & Friday's 1.45pm -3.15pm

Roles and Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic, energetic and experienced violin teacher at a large primary academy school that prioritises music education and specifically the learning of violin for all children. The School has a 100% ABRSM pass rate and has been recognised as a very unique school. The successful candidate will teach the violin to Year 1 and Year 2.

The role would involve an exciting mixture of group violin classes (approx.10) and the opportunity for additional 1-1 teaching and after school clubs.

Person Specification

• Empathetic, creative and skilled violin teacher;

• Specialist early years violin training (Suzuki trained, or knowledge of the Suzuki method) is preferable but not essential;

• Experience of group violin teaching; 

• Experience in preparing children for violin ABRSM exams from grade 1-6;

• Excellent communication skills; 

• Someone to provide high standards of student performance at the annual end of term concert and other events through the year;

• Be familiar with the specially designed string curriculum and deliver it weekly;

• Plan and teach engaging and fun violin classes; 

• To ensure safety of all children and young people and vulnerable adults within the school community and to complete annual safeguarding training to comply with current policies and practices.

General Teaching Responsibilities

• To immediately report any safeguarding concerns using CPOMS (online safeguarding platform).

 LHPA will consider applications on receipt and will arrange interviews accordingly. We therefore reserve the right to appoint before the closing date.

• To be vigilant in reporting all matters relating to health and safety and to take responsibility for your own personal health and safety.

• To reflect on the teaching methods used to ensure that they are effective in promoting learning and encouraging curiosity. To make self-reflective judgements on teaching against the School's remit that all teaching must be imaginative, creative and inspiring.

• To complete and understand and comply with all medical policies.

• To provide yearly written reports on Pupil Progress.

• To access the School Intranet on a regular basis, (Laser, Scholarpack and Outlook) keeping up to date with policy and procedure changes and reading School news.

• To work effectively as part of a team, understanding the role that is played by yourself and others.

• Abide by the School Communication Code.

• Attend team and staff meetings.
