We are looking to appoint an inspirational and innovative Headteacher to open, shape and lead The Acorn Online School. Working with numerous local authorities, schools, academies and alternative providers across the Country, we aim to deliver a high quality of education to students aged 11 to 16 years, enabling them to achieve exceptional results. The Acorn Online School aim to grow to 1000 pupils in the next 5 years. We need somebody who is going to develop a school culture, not an online training platform. 

The online school will provide a live platform for teaching and learning through a remote network of home based teachers and students. As Headteacher you will develop the curriculum, considering the demand and requirements of the pupils. The online school will offer a minimum of 2 lessons per week up to the full statutory requirement for 25 hours per week with the main on core subjects (English, Maths and Science).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with exceptional leadership experience and qualities with the ability to build and inspire a team of experienced and talented home based teachers delivering first class learning opportunities. You will have a proven track record of strong and effective leadership, preferably as a Headteacher. 

The successful candidate will have experience working in both an online school and a traditional school, with Good & Outstanding Ofsted results You will have an excellent understanding of the social care and educational legislation pertinent to children in care and will use their initiative and imagination to unblock significant barriers to the educational success of these children and young people. You will have a proven track record of holding staff to account and achieving outcomes. 

We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils. An excellent communicator, you will become an ambassador for Acorn Care and Education, as the role will include working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders.The Online Headteacher will be able to analyse data to target improvements.
