The Team

Working within the Apprenticeship department within a small team to support the administration and processing of the apprenticeship learner journey from start to finish. Supporting the administration of the wider Apprenticeship Delivery and Business Development teams.

The Role

To provide an effective administration service to the apprenticeship team. To support administration of the apprenticeship learner journey from on-boarding to completion within specific sector areas which include, business, childcare, construction, hairdressing, engineering and motor vehicle.

The post holder may be required to support cover requirements at other centres or within other departments, so a degree of flexibility is therefore important.


The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, abilities and qualities will include:

  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Experience in a fast paces administration environment
  • Ability to work flexibly and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate on all levels from students to directors of business and parents
  • Proven experience of strong IT skills
  • Proactive approach

Northampton College is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational further education college situated in Northamptonshire. It is a 16-plus institution with three campuses: a major building at its main Northampton site, a smaller campus near the town centre and another 20 miles away in Daventry. It provides places for around 9,000 students aged 16 and over, most of whom are full-time and aged 16-18.

Northampton College was opened in 1973. It merged with Daventry Tertiary College to expand its Daventry campus in August 2004, and its Booth Lane campus reopened after a large redevelopment in 2012.
