Welcome to St Teresa's Primary School
St Teresa's Ravenshoe is a Catholic primary school catering for boys and girls from Prep to Year 6. At 920 metres above sea level, Ravenshoe is Queensland's highest town and is situated 147 kms south west of Cairns. It is surrounded by World Heritage listed rainforest and boasts distinctly beautiful wildlife, birds and many tourist attractions.
St Teresa's has an enrolment of 102 students and a staff of 20.

Principal's Welcome
I warmly welcome you to the St Teresa’s Parish School community; one of twenty-nine Catholic Schools in the Cairns Diocese.
As a Catholic Primary School, we place the person of Jesus Christ at the centre of school life and we are intentional about aligning our words and actions to the example of Jesus as presented in Sacred Scripture. Our motto; “Knowledge, Love and Truth,” provides the link and our school song encapsulates all that we seek to aspire.
Our school and parish are named in honour of St Teresa of the Child Jesus, known as the Little Flower, hence the rose in our logo. Our school was founded by the Sisters of Mercy, whose heritage and traditions we honour and respect. At all times, we endeavour to live out the Mercy charism and the vision of Catherine McAuley.
As a Catholic school, we strive to develop the many aspects of the students within our care. The provision of quality teaching and learning is our core business but the overarching umbrella is our commitment to the development of the spiritual, social and emotional dimensions of our students.
We are a small school and our staff members believe that the students belong to all of us. Small schools have distinctive characteristics and St Teresa’s is no exception. Research tells us that students in small schools feel safer; they feel that they belong and that they benefit from the personalisation of learning. Our aim is to have a community of happy and engaged students and staff who are challenged, supported and motivated to articulate a personal vision and direction for their learning journey.
