Whether you are a returning Kiwi teacher or an intrepid UK teacher looking for a vibrant and successful multicultural school to add to your teaching experience here is your opportunity for term 1, 2020 (late January) to work in a highly effective intermediate school (middle school/ Years 7-8/ aged 11-13 years) located in Auckland, NZ – where city style goes hand in hand with a stunning natural playground. Manurewa Intermediate School is a dynamic, highly engaging and successful school, highly praised by the Education Review Office (equivalent of OFSTED) for supportive and competent leadership, effective teaching standards and positive student achievement progress. You would be working in a positive, collaborative, IT rich, modern and refurbished school environment with supportive systems, and a coordinated induction programme.

Manurewa Intermediate School is situated in Manurewa, South Auckland, close to city bus and rail links and motorway off ramps, and no more than a mere 25 minutes’ drive from the CBD.

Manurewa Intermediate is a large school (approx. 850 students) teaching in a specialised subject style, but integrated across all curriculum areas. Small class sizes of approximately 24, lots of opportunities to be involved in extracurricular activities and ability to teach to your passion. We have a range of possible subject areas available so indicate in your covering letter what interests you. You will be a primary or middle school trained teacher, whose skills may include a mix of humanities (English and social sciences), math, science, digital technologies, music, drama. But feel free to suggest any other subject area/s you have skills and talents in as we may be able to be flexible for this role!
