Required for September 2018 or January 2019, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to join our Achievement Team as Year Leader for Year 8. All subject specialisms will be considered.
You will work with the Leadership team, Form Tutors and Pastoral Managers to improve progress and achievement of pupils in Year 8. The role involves a combination of strategic leadership of behaviour and achievement systems, management of the education, social and emotional needs of individuals and the tracking and monitoring of student progress and key groups, planning any required interventions. Liaison with parents, staff, SLT and members of the community is key to maintaining positive outcomes and relationships with students and promoting the vision, ethos and aims of the school. You will be expected to work alongside the Intervention team and the Leadership team to ensure all students in the year group achieve their potential.
The school has a positive commitment to staff development and has a reputation for success built on teamwork, good relations and shared values. All members of staff working at the school support the aims and ethos of the school and participate in the extensive visits programme.

About Anglo European School
Anglo European School is a 11-19, co-educational comprehensive school situated in Ingatestone, Essex. It has approximately 1,415 students.
The school was opened in 1973 after the closure of a secondary modern school led locals to campaign to keep the school open and the Local Authority, Essex, decided to establish a school with a “European Dimension”.
Anglo European School serves local needs but also draw students from across Essex and parts of London. In 1977 it became the first UK state school to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma and in 1995 the first comprehensive school to become a specialist Language college. In 2005 the school established the first co-headship model in a state secondary school.
As a centre of excellence for language learning, the school offers Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and Spanish as well as English as an Additional Language and Latin. Up until age 16 all students study two languages other than English.
In the sixth form, students must study one language. They have a choice of A-levels or an opportunity to study the International Baccalaureate Diploma. There is also the chance to study selected parts of the IB Diploma with A-levels. In addition, the International Baccalaureate Career Programme provides an internationally recognised vocational qualification.
