In this workbook, we talk not only about MANESKIN but about such phenomena as CANCEL CULTURE.
This workbook focuses on all the aspects of the language (the red and white signs on the right will help you to navigate through the textbook to understand what skill you’re working with):
Speaking + Listening (Maneskin interview + questions and vocabulary activities, Jubilee discussion about ‘cancel culture’ + questions, Maneskin playing ‘Never have I ever’ + questions and vocabulary activities, work with “I wanna be your slave’ song - fill in the gaps+ vocabulary activity). All the activities of this type can be done either orally or in writing.
Speaking about style and clothes + extensive clothes vocabulary (fabrics, verbs, types of clothes, idioms).
Reading (BBC article+questions, Rolling Stone magazine + questions and vocabulary activities, rules of the game, Instagram posts + vocabulary activity)
Vocabulary exercises include work with ALL THE NEW WORDS that you come across while working with the workbook (all the new words from the videos and articles) + exercises to practice them + interactive FLASHCARDS to learn the words)
Some vocabulary activities are provided with answer keys.
At the end of this workbook, you’ll also find a link to access a special Quizlet wordlist so you can learn all the new words from the lesson with ease.
Sometimes you’ll need the Internet and YouTube to watch the videos and a dictionary to look up the words. To find the necessary videos you can use the direct link provided or just type their titles in the YouTube search bar.
This lesson can be done with a teacher or by a student him/herself. Each task that requires an answer in writing is provided with blank space so the lesson can be printed out or kept in a digital version if you prefer.
But the main rule of this workbook is to enjoy the process! As Alfred Mercier once said, “What we learn with pleasure we never forget.” So have fun learning English with your favorite band!
P.S. It’s important to mention that Maneskin members are not native speakers, but their level of English is really high and it’s good enough to learn with them. As you would learn from your friend or a classmate. Moreover, all the tasks and vocabulary were chosen thoroughly so that you can be sure that you are learning proper English.
