A enterprising project, giving pupils to opportunity to research, design, make and evaluate their own production of Christmas cards.
The project can be modified to suit various celebrations.
Pupils begin by creating an electronic image board, researching different Christmas design (or birthday/anniversary). This leads into the design element, where they have a place to record different image ideas and work out costing for making each set. We decided to use print as a method for making each card, but other mediums would work too.
Following the making process, pupils are back to the evaluation design sheet to critique their work. This can lead to further developments in their making process.
Further ideas could be linked to advertising, promoting the items for sale and spending additional time on profit and loss accounts.
