Identity and Community-Lesson and Workpack

A ready to use, KS3 lesson complete with workpack for individual students to complete.
No need for books! Colourful and engaging!
Lesson meets the PSHE/SRE Statutory Curriculum. Editable PowerPoint and Workpack allowing you to insert your school logo. 60 minutes worth of material, and space for student self-assessment and teacher comments to aid quick directed marking.

Learning Intentions:

• I can identify and compare factors that influence individual and collective identity
  -I can evaluate the impact a diverse Britain has on communities
  -I can suggest how respect and tolerance can reduce inequalities in society

The Lesson focuses on encouraging students to identify and compare factors that influence identity and to research the diversity in Britain. Lesson also introduces the British Value of Mutual Respect and Tolerance.Students discuss the right to equality when considering individual and collective identity.

PowerPoint and Workpack is in comic sans, size 14 and Powerpoint slides have a yellow background to ensure that it is SEN inclusive. The lesson includes differentiated learning tasks that challenge students to be critical thinkers. The lesson includes assessment for learning opportunities and an optional homework task.
The PowerPoint has teacher notes with suggested teaching ideas and questioning, as well as suggested times, to aid teachers.

The Lesson includes:

• Powerpoint
  -Lesson Workpack 8 pages (x4 if double sided)
  -Information slides to be distributed amongst groups for collaborative learning

Workpack can also be used to ‘catch-up’ absent students and lower ability that may require more processing time.
