These are simple resources to introduce the topic of St. Valentines Day in Irish.

This resource contains three activities:

  1. Heart Emojis: This s a nice simple task where students match the heart emoji to the feeling it represents. This is lovely for reinforcing the idea of ‘AR’ and also for revision of ‘móthúcháin’

  2. Matching Cards: WIth this resource I have attached two files. One bank and one filled it. Sometimes my students like to wrote their own vocabulary down so they can write the phonetic pronounciation below. These are great for teaching the initial vocabulary, then asking the students to chop everything up and have a go at matching it themselves. There are so many games you can play with cards like these and they are a class favourite for my younger year groups for acquiring new vocabulary.

  3. Fill in the Blanks: I don’t think it needs explaining. Great for a plenary. Challenge the students by asking them to do it without their notes.

PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE.PDF’s ONLY!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
