UKS2 Amanda Gorman Reading Comprehension & Biography Bundle

Two great activities that would span five lessons about the life and career of the National Youth Poet Laureate and reader of ‘The Hill We Climb’ during the 2021 Inauguration of Joe Biden, Amanda Gorman. Perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6 learning about famous American figures, U.S. History or for Black History Month.

NO PREP is needed!

Firstly, there is a reading comprehension activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity.

Secondly, there is a biography writing unit. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Ideal for students learning about former World Leaders or U.S. History.
