This 10 lesson guided reading unit is all about informal letters. The three included texts are based on the casual, everyday life, including informal vocabulary and structure.

Great to study across a week or half term, these sessions are based around reading the text together as a whole class (or group) and predicting, clarifying vocabulary and exploring the text.

Children will build up a knowledge of the features and language used in informal letters.

  9. To infer and explain the writer’s feelings and opinions from the body and the conclusion of an informal letter.
  10. To evaluate and improve the organisation and structure of an informal letter.
