Snow White Lesson Pack Set A

Snow White Lesson Pack Set A

Four lesson detailed plans based on the Grimm's Tale of Snow White. This pack is the first of a series of stand alone packs to use the magical story as inspirational for creative and exciting lessons for young children, this time focusing on the Magic Mirror, Drama and English activities. Most suitable for EYFS and Key Stage 1, but easily adaptable and hugely enjoyable for older children too, these lessons contain clear aims and success criteria for each session, ideas and indications for how the lessons can develop and progress. Differentiation is catered for, and specially tailored activities and tasks are included in the plans to help support and stretch all abilities. The Drama lessons ask the children to develop their skills in mirroring and copying each other, in a co-operative and happy environment, with opportunities for role-play and interaction skill development. Role-play also features in the English lessons, as they look at how to ask and answer written and oral questions. Suggested prior knowledge, requirements and resources are all included in the plans, so you can pick them up and use them, knowing exactly what you need to know, what the children to know, what you need and where you can get things from too if necessary. Notes have been added to make everything as simple as possible, so that you can use the lessons easily.

The Dinosaur Dance - KS1 song for your Dinosaur Topic with video, makaton & simple percussion

This song is easy to learn and teach with the IWB split-screen song video. It features Al Start singing & signing the song (using simple makaton), subtitles, easy percussion parts for tambourine or shaker, wood block and hand drum. The children simply watch and copy their parts. Split your class into 4 groups and away you go! Teaching notes explain further. I have taught this to Reception children up to Year 3 and they all love it! It's catchy and contemporary and has great dinosaur raaaaahhhs in it! Great for class singing or assembly and works well as a performance piece. The lyrics and chords are included as well as the song and backing track so once the song has been learned from the teaching video, you can simply use the audio track or play along on guitar/ukulele or piano. No musical ability needed to teach this song, let us take the stress out of your music lesson! Great for cross-curricular box-ticking - Music & Dinosaur topic!

Snow White Activity Pack

Snow White Activity Pack

A detailed and wide range of activities based on the traditional version of Snow White. This is an overview of a unit of work, which can be used in conjunction with the story or a trip to the pantomime and is most suitable for children from EYFS to lower Key Stage 2, although the ideas may be cherry picked and developed for older pupils. Most of the activities are based in drama, art & technology and literacy, and there are opportunities for outdoor learning which encompass geography and design technology. Included in the pack are background notes on the history and changes to the text since it first appeared in print, suggested further reading and almost unnecessary references to Chris Hemsworth. I have included detailed notes on how I would approach telling the tale to a class as a oral tale - where I would have breaks for discussions and to create tension.

Hallowe'en Activities

Hallowe'en Activities

A fun-packed, jam-packed goodie bag of Tricks and Treats for primary aged children at Hallowe'en time. There's a detailed set of activities for drama games, an arty party and warm-up games with a spooky twist, involving music, mindfulness, concentration , role-play, and moments of calm. The activities can form sessions on their own, but can be cherry picked to be incorporated to stimulate or round-off similarly themed lessons. At the end of the document, there's a short but informative recommended book list, including notes on the origins of the folk stories we know today that are far more terrifying in their original forms than their Disneyified counterparts. JUST ADDED! A set of worksheets based on the skull decorations often seen during Day of the Dead celebrations in Mexico and America. The first sheet provides illustrative examples for the children to look at and discuss (as a class. group, talking partner etc), the second sheet is a very basic colouring in (that can be added to with the children's own design and flowers etc), and the third is the basic skull shape, which is up to the children to design (and again flowers etc can be added). The children's skull pictures can be printed or stuck to card and made into masks by cutting out the eye holes and making holes at either side of the face.
