Included in each lesson is: Whole lesson PowerPoints - clear and precise, colourful and comprehensive; Bronze, Silver, and Gold level award worksheets - carefully differentiated and provided in both Word and PDF; Teacher answer sheets; A detailed teacher lesson plan. Student helpsheets (where appropriate) There are also opportunities for group learning, speaking and listening, peer assessment, and whole class discussion. I originally used these resources with Year 6 (and higher-attaining Year 5) classes, however colleagues have used them for between years 4 and 9 with some minor adaptations. Some of the content really does become quite challenging (especially the Gold sheets) and so these resources could easily be used for KS3 children. World Cup 2018 maths ideas mat

World Cup 2018 maths ideas mat

This resource is a maths poster giving ideas for different maths activities that use the vast amount of data that can be collected during the World Cup 2018. The poster is organised using the strands of the curriculum ranging from year 1 to year 6, each one can be adapted to suit the age of the pupils. For number and place value, why not compare stadium capacity , find out which team is the most expensive or how far teams have had to travel to Russia. For geometry, consider symmetry and shapes on flags and football kits or angles of the ball when taking corners or penalties. Ideas presented here would also make a really good transition unit for year 6 pupils , enabling them to practice key skills in a fun context. Fractions, Decimals and Percentages Pairs/Snap/Matching Game

Fractions, Decimals and Percentages Pairs/Snap/Matching Game

This is a card game to support learners with converting between fractions, decimals and percentages. It could be used as a pairs/pelmanism game, snap game or a simple matching game. Cards have reverse side (which says “Fractions, Decimals & Percentages”) so please print double sided if you wish to make use of this. From my experience it can be useful to have the reverse side to prevent any observant pupils having a sneaky read of the card when placed upside down!! My resource comes as a PDF ready to print, as well as a Word document so you can edit as you wish. The spacing of the cards should be correct so this will save you a lot of work! I hope you find this resource useful.
