10 Minute Bullying Play, Primary school Stage Playscript.

10 Minute Bullying Play, Primary school Stage Playscript.

**** STAGE PLAY VERSION **** This is a tried and tested Script, created for a after-school drama club. It was performed by a mixture of Lower and Upper KS2 children. It would be perfect for a Drama Club or PSHE project. It also highlights ‘first days’ and transition along with sibling and peer relationships. It has an appropriate ending to promote ‘doing the right thing’ and forgiveness I give permission for the names and genders to be changed to suit the group performing. Please leave a review to help others thinking of purchasing.

Stop Asking and Start Telling: How To Get Kids To Do What They Are Told To Do With a Good Attitude

Stop Asking and Start Telling: How To Get Kids To Do What They Are Told To Do With a Good Attitude

STOP asking and Start Telling. If you want students to comply you have to stop giving choices and tell students exactly what you want them to do. Choices are something we all want and should be offered at times, but when there is a specific behavior you that you want your students to exhibit allowing choice only promotes confusion on the part of the students and frustration for the teacher. Compliance before choice is something that all students should understand. Students can’t say and do what they want when they want to do it. This 13 page guide provides instructions on how to do it with illustrations from the authors life and provides the language that will empower the teacher and create a positive school climate.

This powerpoint guides users through a lesson to help young children understand that people have different needs and how it is right and fair to accommodate them. Ideal for exploring diversity, disability, autism and the paralympics. One of the main characters features Stephen Wiltshire (the human camera) as child. It would be a valuable activity to watch videos of him on youtube . This would help explore that we all have different strengths and weaknesses. This resource was developed by Spectrum Savvy to help build peer relationships and tolerance where autistic learners were being misunderstood in mainstream. Outstanding English Lesson Hook - iPhone Character Message

Outstanding English Lesson Hook - iPhone Character Message

Get the children’s imaginations flowing with this text message generator. This PowerPoint allows you to edit text messages as if they had come from anyone. It may be a message from the Gingerbread man or the 3 little pigs. The first slide acts as if the screen isn’t in use. The next pretends to bring up ‘your iPhone’ with the message from the chosen person. When you click (works best with a clicker) the slide will look like your replying. Clicking again saying “send” will send your preprepared message. Give it 4 seconds and your character will reply without you having to press anything. (Remember to type in your reply, it doesn’t generate that part). Then repeat the process again to have a conversation as long as you want. It even has real text noises! A genuinely excellent resource that has so much flexibility. This is an excellent resource! Always thought of creating something like this. Please review and let me know what you used it for! Mr H

My Vegan Child - A Resource for Educators

My Vegan Child - A Resource for Educators

My Vegan Child is a free online resource for parents, teachers and caregivers of vegan children. The booklet was created in collaboration with a group of vegan parents and educators. We wanted to communicate in a way that would inform our children’s teachers on veganism and to navigate potential sensitive areas such as food, nutrition and animal welfare. With more and more families becoming vegan, it is important that educators and carers gain an insight into the perspective of the vegan children they teach. Veganism is much more than just a diet. The information provided both in the booklet, and on this website, will help create a more inclusive learning environment for vegan children, as well as ideas and links for including humane education in teaching programs for all. Printing Info: Open pdf file in Adobe Acrobat Reader (download Adobe for free here). Choose print, then select ‘booklet’ as an option.

Supply Teacher Folder

Supply Teacher Folder

Whenever a teacher needs a day off for sickness or a course, it can sometimes feel like more work to not be in school than it is to be in it. I created this document to make leaving my class with a supply teacher easier for all involved. I know how hard supply teachers work and I know how hard it is to walk into a class and not know the children or the timetable. This folder allows you to keep all the crucial information that a supply teacher needs to know about your class. Just edit the document and include everything that a supply teacher could need to know, print it off, put it in a folder and leave it on your desk! I’ve included a supply teacher feedback form in the download so you can be easily updated on how the day went, who behaved, messages you missed etc

Bucket Filler 20 minute class assembly about kindness and caring based on the book by Carol McCloud

Bucket Filler 20 minute class assembly about kindness and caring based on the book by Carol McCloud

Did you know that everyone carries an invisible bucket that can be filled by doing kind things? This 20 minute assembly is based on the book ‘have you filled a bucket today?’ by Carol McCloud (an amazing book that I would recommend to any teacher). There are enough short speaking parts for a class of 30+ and the script is fully editable. Your children will introduce the concept of bucket filling and dipping to their audience. Through short drama pieces, they will demonstrate the benefits of bucket filling and the negative impact of bucket dipping. So, ask yourself, have you filled a bucket today?

They Walk Amongst Us

They Walk Amongst Us

After the horrific events in Parkland Florida I am encouraging everyone to download this FREE resource that explains why we have to take a tougher stance when disciplining children and stop soft peddling when it comes down to consequences. Political correctness needs to be looked at closely in relationship to students and adults who because of their digital footprint have proven that they are a danger to society.

Is The Behavior Conduct Or Clinical?

Is The Behavior Conduct Or Clinical?

Teachers will respond or react to a student who exhibits verbal or physical conduct problems. I mean, that’s our job right? But what about the kid whose head is down on his desk, the kid who is just so quiet that you wonder what is going on behind those eyes, the kid who is disaffected but really is not a behavior problem at all? Often we can be so concerned about the outward conduct of our students that the disaffected kid can get lost in the sauce. This kid needs our help.

Positive Office Referral Template

Positive Office Referral Template

Flip the discourse around by creating a positive environment around behavior. Praising the positive and focusing on the students doing the right thing is aligned to the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Support). This is a great way to allow those students who often slip through the cracks for doing the right thing, receive the recognition they deserve. Formatted very similar to the tradition behavior report, there is a section for the location, character trait that was identified such as grit, honesty, humility, teamwork and much more. There is a section for the teacher comments, and then an administrators comments. This can then be sent home for parents to see the great things their child has done.

My Hurt Feelings Promise Template

My Hurt Feelings Promise Template

Promote problem solving and positive self image with this template. While pushing students to reflect on their feelings and actions, this form is broken into three main parts. The first component has students make a promise for what they are going to do if someone hurts their feeling. The second part prompts them to think through the importance of talking about their feelings. This is heavily aligned to Conscious Discipline and communicating feelings. The third component has student think through why they know they are great. Ending with a signature, this is a great way to be proactive for problem solving behaviors and feelings!
