Pride and Prejudice - Elizabeth and Darcy's Relationship Graph Task!

Pride and Prejudice - Elizabeth and Darcy's Relationship Graph Task!

This interesting task provides students with an opportunity to track Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship throughout 'Pride and Prejudice.' Students first rate Elizabeth and Darcy's feelings for one another at different points in the text on a 1-10 scale, plotting their rating on the graph. They then justify the rating with an explanation and textual evidence, in the table beneath. It's great for helping them to see how the relationship develops over the course of the text, and also offers a novel cross-curricular link with maths. Shameless plug - if you like this resource, please take a look at my paid 'Pride and Prejudice' resources, available as single lessons or in the lesson bundle. Thanks!

Alfred The Great Bundle

Alfred The Great Bundle

Alfred The Great Bundle 1. Alfred The Great History and Quiz Learning Objectives: To be able to explain about who Alfred The Great was. This works brilliantly for expanding vocabulary and creative thinking skills. 15 questions within 27 slides; excellent pictures and sources to engage and motivate pupils study of the History of the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings. Teacher Notes This is an excellent activity/game/plenary to further improve student’s work and knowledge. I split the class into two teams (in one class I have girls against boys but in another class I have just divided the room down the middle) and when we play the game each side decides on a volunteer to come to the front, facing the class so they can’t see the board (one team at a time). A word is shown on the IWB and each time the word is answered correctly I display another. This works really well but it is important to set some ground rules such as not using words that rhyme with the word on display. I’ve yet to come across a class who doesn’t like the concept. Works brilliantly in pairs also - 1 student turns their back to the IWB. Further Notes Student sits at front with back to board. Words are displayed behind him/her. Rest of class has to describe word to student - see how many he/she gets in 1 min. Can be reversed so that student can see the words and has to describe them to the class. Includes make a stamp template and blank word search template. 2. Alfred the Great Handout - 14 pages 3. Alfred the Great Source Analysis Activity 4. Alfred the Great Message Puzzle Activity 5. Alfred the Great Word Search 6. Alfred the Great Pictures - 14
