Primary French Day with sport, cookery, art and Paris architecture, KS1 KS2

Primary French Day with sport, cookery, art and Paris architecture, KS1 KS2

If you have been tasked to plan a French Day in school but don't know where to start then this is for you. There are 4 sessions which will last at least an hour each. The information pack tells you how to deliver each session. There's a petanque session (you will need at least 4 petanque sets but I've found these cheap at 'The Works' bookshop, a cookery session (madeleines and salade nicoise, madeleine trays available for just £2 on amazon), and art session all about Monet and Toulouse Lautrec, with a different art activity for classes from Reception to Y6 to do and a French session which will could be led by the teacher organising the day but doesn't have to be. There's an evaluation sheet for children to give you feedback at the end and a letter to parents that you can adapt as you see fit. There is a timetable for the day in the info. pack you would only need change the times to suit your school. I have spent about 3 days pulling these resources together and will be using them in three of the schools where I am employed permanently as a French teacher. This literally is all you will need.

10 Phrases Sur Moi! Je me présente! Activité pour la rentrée

10 Phrases Sur Moi! Je me présente! Activité pour la rentrée

This fun French activity helps primary school pupils introduce themselves. It is ideal as a back-to-school or end-of-year activity but it can be used at any time of the year. Pupils write 10 sentences about themselves - one sentence per finger onto the outline of a pair of hands. They then decorate. The completed art activity can then be used as a springboard to oral presentations. This is a lovely confidence-building activity. Finding ten things to say about themselves may seem like a daunting task but by using the included fill-in-the-blanks sentences, pupils are often surprised with how much French they know. This resource includes: - 25 fill-in-the-blanks French sentences & the English translation - the same 25 sentences with options to fill in the sentences & the English translation - 3 different pairs of hands outlines with fill-in-the-blanks sentences - a blank pair of hands outline - 3 sample completed pairs of hands outlines - Teacher Page - How to use this product

12 Christmas Quizz in French for All Levels

12 Christmas Quizz in French for All Levels

This is a collection of 14 quizzes on France and French language for KS 3-5 students, depending on the resource. Most of them are in French but a few for KS3 are in English. The length varies between 10 and 30mn . Most of theses quizzes are interactive PPT so they can be displayed on whiteboard and are fully editable. The title indicates the targeted audience. I use these quizzes either at the end of term or for starters/plenaries with great effect. Students really enjoy them as it's covering a range of cultural topics about France ( medias, geography, history, famous people) and it's a refreshing change from the linguistic side of their French studies. Enjoy!

French dominoes and pairs (Linked to level 3 mod 4 tout le monde)

French dominoes and pairs (Linked to level 3 mod 4 tout le monde)

These activities work well in groups of 2-4. I get the children to start with the dominoes to link them round in a complete rectangle. Once the children have completed this, I check it and get them to leave it on the table so they can then self check when playing pairs and I know they are matching the words and pictures correctly. Pairs cards have been created so that once printed back to back the cards can not been seen through. The words cards have a different colour backing to the images so children can easily tell the difference. Therefore, they can pick one of each type to match them more easily.
