Spanish Film Booklet Worksheets Disney's Coco

Spanish Film Booklet Worksheets Disney's Coco

The preview seems to mess up the placement of some text boxes - this does not happen on the downloaded version Cultural awareness of Dia de los Muertos including questions that run alongside the film, and cultural research activities. Spanish exercises on expressions of opinion and justification. Some opinion work in the past tense. I have used this with students in their first year of Spanish, and it normally takes around 4 lessons. Equally usable with students in years 8 - 9. A nice end of year activity or to use around Halloween.

LAS FALLAS de Valencia - Cultural Lesson AS/ALevels or KS4

LAS FALLAS de Valencia - Cultural Lesson AS/ALevels or KS4

Cultural lesson about my hometown’s big celebration: Las fallas, includes clips, a song and lots of explanations in Spanish about this popular Celebration declared Patrimonio Inmaterial de la Humanidad in 2017. It goes well with the AS/ALevels Spanish AQA topic “El Patrimonio Nacional”. It is also a very good powerpoint if you want to do a cultural lesson with KS3 or KS4 students, however the texts are in TL and would need some translation. I have a KS3 version of the presentation created, please, ask if interested :). I hope you enjoy such a colourful display! Paula PD: I have attached a video about Spanish festivities as a starter , so the file might be a bit heavy, however it also has the videos embeded in the ppt notes.

Spanish-speaker profiles

Spanish-speaker profiles

Reading, speaking and listening practice. Can also be used as a framework for a writing activity. In pairs: Give students a profile each and a set of questions to ask each other. They can refer to the profiles to give their answers using first or second person. To challenge some students, ask them to create their own questions to discover more about their partner, or begin inventing new information about their character. They can also use the examples to create their own profiles for Spanish speakers or as a structure to begin building up a description of their own life or friends. Lots of options. Please feel free to give feedback if you spot any mistakes.

Salvador Dali, Federico Garcia Lorca and Luis Bunuel

This is another resource for Spanish club, may be useful for art, culture, Spanish lesson. It is a summary of the lives of these 3 friends of the "Generation '27" who all attended the Residencia Estudiantes, Madrid, Spain. In England we know more about Salvador Dali than we do Lorca and Bunuel, but the three of them have had interesting careers which are very notable and interesting.

PRIMARY SPANISH FACTS ACTIVITIES 1

PRIMARY SPANISH FACTS ACTIVITIES 1

PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING AND EXPLORING THE SPANISH-SPEAKING WORLD! - 20 FASCINATING FACTS CARDS, 28 CHALLENGE CARDS, DIFFERENTIATED WRITING/COMPREHENSION ACTIVITIES AND WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION ACTIVITY ABOUT ALL THINGS SPANISH! This resource really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about Spain’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of SPAIN AND SPANISH - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home/host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. This resource comprises the following: 20 FACTS CARDS - there are four facts in each of the following five topic groups: GEOGRAPHY, COUNTRY, LANDMARKS, LANGUAGE and FOOD. There are four cards per A4 sheet, making them the perfect size for young learners. The language on each of the cards ranges from fairly basic to more advanced, which challenges and enhances children’s English skills. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 1 - there are 2 options: either 2 or 4 fact recording boxes per A4 page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. Encourage children to be as accurate as possible with their spelling and punctuation, to pay particular attention to the spelling and accents of the SPANISH words that are included, and of course to make sure they are recording the facts in their best handwriting. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 2 - there are also 2 options: 2 or 4 fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. 28 DIFFERENTIATED COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE CARDS, with answer sheet WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ACTIVITY, with every fact included in the presentation resource - I’ve found this a really useful means of encouraging and stimulating classroom discussion. Children can reflect on what they already know about SPAIN, and share it with their peers. Use the facts themselves to prompt discussion about the home/host country, eg “What is our capital city? Is it also our largest city?”, which really does create a successful cross-curricular learning environment. This pack comprises 6 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN VIAJE!

GIANT Spanish Culturopoly Board Game

GIANT Spanish Culturopoly Board Game

The second of our GIANT Board Games, Culturopoly focuses on teaching students about the important people, products, and places of the countries of Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Cuba, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Venezuela. This is a great whole-class game that transforms the floor of your classroom into a giant board game. With a style of game play similar to Monopoly, students travel around the game board collecting cultural facts about the various countries. Once they gather enough facts, if they land on a "maleta" space, they can answer some trivia questions about a particular country in order to earn a "boleto de ida y vuelta". The team with the most "boletos" at the end end of the game wins. The best part of this game is that it is easily adaptable to any age group and proficiency level. With three different difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard), it is perfect for an exploratory or Latin American Studies class all the way through an upper level Spanish class. While the Easy mode allows for students with no knowledge of Spanish, the Medium mode starts to introduce target language terms for students with minimal Spanish language proficiency, and the Hard mode focuses on play completely in the target language. This is a great way to review for culture portions of midterm or final exams, or for any day that you just need something different. In the future, there will be expansion packs to add different Spanish-speaking countries to the game. Either way, any teacher will get a LOT of use out of this one game. This Resource Includes: -Complete Set-up and Game Play Instructions for each mode -Fifty 8 1/2 x 11 Game Spaces with pictures representative of cultural items -12 Boletos de Ida y Vuelta (one per country) -12 Easy Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -12 Medium Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -12 Hard Difficulty Country Challenge Cards w/ answer keys -36 Culture Fact Cards
