Spanish Key Stage 3 - Technology and Free time activities - New GCSE-style questions

Spanish Key Stage 3 - Technology and Free time activities - New GCSE-style questions

This 61 page booklet (including answers) contains new GCSE style reading, writing, speaking and translation questions for Key Stage 3 students. The booklet contains activities on the topics of ‘technology in everyday life’ and ‘free-time activities’, from the AQA theme Identity and Culture. There are 6 subtopics: Technology in everyday life, sports, TV/film, music, eating out, and festivals. For each of these subtopics, there are 6 activities: a reading task, translation (short paragraph) from Spanish into English, sentences to translate from English into Spanish, a writing task (short passage similar to the foundation writing exam), a photo (like in the foundation writing exam) and a role-play. There are also 6 extension activities which bring together all of the subtopics: a longer reading task, a paragraph translation from English into Spanish, a 90-word writing task, a 150-word writing task and a photo card (like in the speaking exam). This booklet can be used in KS3 or for revision in KS4 (foundation). It can either be used to supplement work in lessons as you teach the topics of technology and free-time, or for assessments. It could also be set as cover work, as the answers are included. A free sample of the booklet is available here: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/spanish-key-stage-3-technology-new-gcse-style-activities-11948970

Eurovision 2018 MFL SPANISH

Eurovision 2018 MFL SPANISH

Resources that can be used for a lesson or two on Eurovision for a Spanish class. Would work particularly well with Y9 and GCSE to get them using more interesting opinions but can be adapted for any year really. It’s good to use for Media topic (Music) and for writing with opinions. I have used this resource many times over the last few years and just changed it each year to make it up to date, it has always gone down really well with students! Resources include: Powerpoint Sweepstake of countries to cut out* Score cards for the semi finals *(will add the Final scorecard when final contestants are announced) Worksheet that includes a countries match up English to Spanish and a score card that pupils can write their votes on and choose an adjective to describe each song. New Spanish GCSE - Theme 1 (Identity and culture). Writing exam practice: 90-word questions

A booklet with eight 90 word questions to revise the theme of Identity and culture of the new Spanish GCSE exam. There are two questions for each of the topics in Theme one (Me, my family and friends, Technology in everyday life, Free-time activities and Customs and festivals in Spanish-speaking countries). Each of the questions contains four bullet points that the students are expected to cover; one of the bullet points refers to the past and, when possible, it starts with "qué hiciste", as many of the AQA sample questions do; another bullet point requires the students to use either the future or the conditional, and another one prompts them to say their opinion. Finally, the booklet also contains a copy of the mark scheme for the 90 word question, which is the same at foundation and at higher level. A similar booklet including questions for themes 1, 2 and 3 can be found in this link: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/new-spanish-gcse-writing-exam-practice-90-word-questions-11820179

Claim the parcel translation game Los Pasatiempos New GCSE Viva AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Los Pasatiempos New GCSE Viva AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Activity for revising different verb tenses and topics from new GCSE AQA books. You have a table with different verbs tenses/sentences and project it on your interactive whiteboard/wall. In groups of 2 (max 3) they write the answer in Spanish to one of the parcels/boxes on their mini white boards, come to you at the front of the class (you check) and if they have the answer correct they can claim the parcel/box. You write their names/team name on a post it notes and stick it over the parcel/box on the interactive whiteboard. Then, no one can do this parcel/box anymore. The winner is the group to have most parcels/boxes claimed at the end. Works well as end of module revision or translation practice. Don't forget to feedback!

Viva 1 Module 2 support tasks

If you use Viva 1, this is to give you some extra class exercises. Could be an effective cover sheet to leave as once the class has covered most of Module 2, they should be able to access this. Starts with a reading gapfill, then translation, then word classification and finally a writing. I'll attempt an answer sheet later but the school run beckons...
