A level French Speaking Revision Booklet

A level French Speaking Revision Booklet

A revision booklet aimed at A level students doing the AQA spec. Primarily, it includes a list of the exam regulations as well as the structure of the exam. As this booklet focuses on the stimulus card aspect of the exam, it also has a mark scheme for that. It includes an example of a stimulus card on all 12 themes used throughout AS and A level AQA French. There are three questions on each card, and subsequently, there are possible answers to each question on each card to show students how to structure their planning and best use their time. There is space for extra annotations and translations to be done as the comments are in English. As the students are required to ask their teacher 2 questions relating to the card, there are also 4 examples per card of questions students could ask. At the end of the booklet, there are tasks for the students to complete. These tasks include: plan your own response for three of the questions under ‘possible questions to ask teachers’ where students are encouraged to think outside the box. practice doing one of the cards with a peer, taking it in turns to swap roles and be the examiner. This helps them to get to grips with the mark scheme. lastly, there is an example of transcript between a student and an examiner. The students should annotate this with what the student did well, and how they could improve. By doing both of these, the students can learn something.

PRIMARY FRENCH FACTS ACTIVITIES 2

PRIMARY FRENCH FACTS ACTIVITIES 2

PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING AND EXPLORING FRANCE - 20 FASCINATING FACTS ABOUT ALL THINGS FRENCH - WITH PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION ACTIVITY & DIFFERENTIATED QUESTION CARDS AND WRITING ACTIVITIES FRENCH FASCINATING FACTS ACTIVITIES really do help to create a lively language learning environment, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about France’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of THE FRANCOPHONE WORLD - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home / host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. The resource comprises the following six files: 20 FACTS CARDS - there are four facts in each of the following topic groups: language, country, arts & culture, famous people and history. There are four cards per A4 sheet. The language on each of the cards ranges from fairly basic to more advanced, which challenges and enhances children’s English skills. RECORDING SHEET CHALLENGE ONE - there are two options: either two or four fact recording boxes per A4 page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. Encourage children to be as accurate as possible with their spelling and punctuation, to pay particular attention to the spelling and accents of the FRENCH words that are included, and of course to make sure they are recording the facts in their best handwriting. RECORDING SHEET CHALLENGE TWO - there are also two options: two or four fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. Encourage children to look for lateral information, such as the existence of other countries where FRENCH is spoken, and to think about the continent where those countries are located. 24 QUESTION CARDS AND ANSWER RECORDING SHEET — the questions have a differentiated range of challenge. The answer recording sheet prompts children to write their answer. SETS 1 & 2 are available together at the special price of £5.00: This pack comprises 6 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. MERCI BEACOUP ET BON VOYAGE!
