FRENCH TENSES - REVISION

FRENCH TENSES - REVISION

Practice for revising French tenses. Includes: Le Présent, (regular and irregular verbs), Le Passé Composé, (regular and irregular verbs) and L'Imparfait. Could also be used as a test which is what I have made it for. My students who are only 14 will be taking their French GCSE this May. I have included 'completed' worksheets with answers. This resource contains 10 files in total. If you consider this worth buying, 'un très grand merci.' Comments are really appreciated. They are also useful in the event I amend or improve this resource as it enables me to let you know that there has been an update. *PLEASE NOTE: I HAVE AMENDED AND IMPROVED WORKSHEET No 3 AS IT CONTAINS AN ERROR. My thanks to openclipart.org for the use of the clipart images.

Intro to the perfect tense in French / passe compose

Intro to the perfect tense in French / passe compose

I have put two lessons worth of activities together here. I normally use these lessons with Y8/9 students who are seeing the past tense for the first time. I aim to explain how to form it to give them the freedom to be creative rather than teach set expressions. The first lessons has slides on: - starter to match up familiar and cognate infinitives - list of phrases in present/past for students to identify and recognise patterns -explanation of 3 parts of perfect tense (person or object, auxiliary verb, past participle) with animations -links to YouTube videos to help with memorising avoir -Whiteboard activities to practise writing short expressions eg. I played, he hid The second lesson looks at irregular past participles: -translation starter to recap last lesson -table to complete with infinitives and past participles -short phrases to practise as a class -Connect 4 grid for pairwork -Match-up exercise for recap of time phrases -Translation exercise incorporating time phrases and past tense verbs. -Possible extension to write own paragraph.

Claim the parcel translation game Mes loisirs New GCSE Studio AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Mes loisirs New GCSE Studio AQA

Claim the parcel translation game Activity for revising different verb tenses and topics from new GCSE AQA books. You have a table with different verbs tenses/sentences and project it on your interactive whiteboard/wall. In groups of 2 (max 3) they write the answer in French to one of the parcels/boxes on their mini white boards, come to you at the front of the class (you check) and if they have the answer correct they can claim the parcel/box. You write their names/team name on a post it notes and stick it over the parcel/box on the interactive whiteboard. Then, no one can do this parcel/box anymore. The winner is the group to have most parcels/boxes claimed at the end. Works well as end of module revision or translation practice. Don't forget to feedback!
