FRENCH VOCABULARY CARDS #1

FRENCH VOCABULARY CARDS #1

495 introductory words and phrases, ideal for beginners French, which always give my students a real flying start - there are 990 matching French and English cards, featuring vocabulary in the following groups: **Vocabulaire: Les salutations Les jours de la semaine Les mois et les saisons de l’année Les nombres 0-100 Ma famille Les animaux Les matières scolaires Les fruits et légumes Les couleurs Les parties du corps Le temps Les pays Quelle heure est-il? (o’clock/half past) Les adjectifs La nourriture et les boissons Verbes français En ville Mots fréquents Le français pour la salle de classe Questions et réponses Conversation** There are five sets, each with 99 words and phrases (198 vocabulary cards). Each set also has an 18-page reference, recall and write workbook, with 3 differentiated challenges in each, as well as a full French-English alphabetical reference list, which is great as a year-round reference resource, not only when we’re working on these specific vocabulary groups. My students really enjoy applying and practising their French by creating game/quiz cards for each other, which is an additional way of consolidating vocab. I’ve found the best way to help students really learn their vocab is to allow them frequent and regular opportunities to work and learn independently with the cards and workbooks - not only when we’re focusing on these specific vocab groups, but throughout the whole school year - even more advanced students enjoy going ‘back to the start’! You don’t have to use all the cards at once - simply choose the vocab you want to focus on - the sets are really versatile - I use them for directed learning time, free-choice activity, homework, revision/holiday work and cover lessons for example. There are ten non-editable files in a zipped format. My resource is copyright, and can’t be shared with anyone, in any way - for wider departmental use, please purchase the whole-school license - colleagues further afield must purchase their own resource. I’ve explained copyright etc in my Terms of Use, which I’ve included here - please read them. Merci beaucoup, bon apprentissage et bon divertissement !

FRENCH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES CARDS

FRENCH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES CARDS

A SET OF 80 MATCHING GAMES CARDS SHOWING COUNTRIES, FLAGS AND CAPITAL CITIES OF 40 COUNTRIES WHERE FRENCH IS AN OFFICIAL LANGUAGE These cards give my students a great flying start getting to know LES PAYS FRANCOPHONES - they can play a wide of games with the them, completely independently. I’ve included a full reference resource too, which is great not only for when you’re focusing on French-speaking countries, but also as an all-year round resource. Allow students about 60 seconds on a timer to really focus their reading and to increase the sense of competition if you’re playing any of the whole-group games! There may be a number of countries and capital cities that students do not know, or are not aware of, so the games help them fully develop their general awareness, knowledge and understanding of LES PAYS FRANCOPHONES. Laminate the cards and reference sheets if you can - you will be able to use them for years to come. The resource consists of two, non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the resource is copyright, and for single-teacher / purchaser / classroom use only. MERCI BEAUCOUP ET BON VOYAGE !

Ma personnalité - Card Game

Ma personnalité - Card Game

This game is a French version of the classic " I have… Who has …? " game, designed to practice asking and answering basic questions (name, age, nationality, family, siblings, pets, preferences etc) This is an easy-to-play game and a great way to practice essential language concepts with the whole class. As students match up the answers on their cards with questions on other students’ cards, they get valuable practice with vocabulary, as well as reading and listening skills. Directions: Cut out the cards along the dotted line and laminate. For bigger classes, you might want to print several copies of each set. Give out all the cards in the set to the students. It is important to use all the cards. Choose a student to go first. I usually do that by a counting rhyme. Have the selected student read the question at the bottom of the card aloud and then put the card down. The student who has the card with the answer then reads that answer aloud. This student will then read the question at the bottom of their card and put the card down. Play continues in this fashion until all of the cards have been played. The game will end with the same student who started play. Every card in the set is connected to a card before it and a card after it. To keep the game moving at a quick pace, all students need to pay attention to every question that has been asked. I tell my younger students that this is a magic game and that the magic only works if you pay attention, which is actually true. The magic happens in the end, when the question on the last card actually matches the answer on the very first card. Enjoy!

PRIMARY FRENCH FACTS 2

PRIMARY FRENCH FACTS 2

Exploring France is the perfect introduction to learning French, as well as a great back to school activity. I’ve found that these activities work well across a series of lessons, particularly at the beginning of the school year. Here I’ve focused on 20 facts on the French language, nation, arts & culture, famous people and history. There are four facts cards per 1 page. I’ve written the facts in fairly basic English, as well as in more complex sentences. The recording sheets are differentiated, from a general repetition of facts in writing to the more open-ended question: What did you learn? I generally let my students select their own challenge. I like to do the presentation/discussion activity first, moving on over the following lessons to the facts cards. There are also 24 question cards with an answer recording sheet, again with a differentiated level of challenge. There are 6 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher / purchaser / classroom use only. MERCI BEACOUP ET BON VOYAGE !
