SPANISH TIME O'CLOCK & HALF PAST GAMES CARDS & WORKBOOK

SPANISH TIME O'CLOCK & HALF PAST GAMES CARDS & WORKBOOK

PERFECT FOR DEVELOPING LANGUAGE SKILLS AS WELL AS PRACTICING HOW TO TELL THE TIME IN SPANISH - O’CLOCK AND HALF PAST THE HOUR. SPANISH TELLING THE TIME GAMES CARDS & RECALL CHALLENGES really do help to create a lively language learning environment. Students can develop, embed, reinforce and refresh their understanding & knowledge of how to tell the time in SPANISH in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, independently of the teacher. The cards, card templates and accompanying Recall & Write challenges have a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling. Encourage students to reflect on their progress, and note targets for improvement using the Notes & Next Steps template. This set includes a range of games and activities featuring the clock times o’clock and half past the hour. Students can play alone, in pairs or in small-groups. There are lots of whole-group games to play too. The games and activities are particularly useful as a set of either homework or revision activities as students prepare for exams and progress to new stages in their SPANISH learning program. The accompanying Reference, Recall & Write workbook includes a SPANISH to English time phrase and clock face reference workbook, which students find useful as a learning support resource. Ideally, students will keep the workbooks in their learning files/folders to use and refer to over a longer period of time, particularly as a revision resource. The workbook works best when photocopied double-sided, and double-stapled on the left-hand side, rather than a single staple in the top left-hand corner for example. This format is far more reader, writer and learner-friendly, and can be used more effectively as a learning and reference resource. The resource comprises two non-editable files: 56 GAMES CARDS 14-PAGE REFERENCE AND CHALLENGE WORKBOOK WITH SIX DIFFERENTIATED CHALLENGES Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully: the resource is copyright and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y QUE OS DIVIRTÁIS!

Winter Olympics Spanish Sports - PowerPoints, Worksheets, and Activities

Winter Olympics Spanish Sports - PowerPoints, Worksheets, and Activities

I love the Olympics – so I made a mini unit about sports revolving around the winter Olympics 2018 focusing on athletes from Spanish speaking countries. This resource includes all of the following – No prep needed! -Powerpoint for the week - including fun vocab games, and interactive activities -Worksheets for the following New Sports Vocab - Student Led Students read about athletes competing in the 2018 winter olympics from Spain and Argentina, and using context clues find the vocabulary (relating to winter sports and sports in general) and answer questions about sports they play. Additionally asks students to think and analyze why there are less spanish speaking countries in the winter olympics. Sparks interest and discussion, and answer key included. Fun Olympics Meme Homework Fun worksheet where students see funny pictures of Olympic athletes and then write their own memes/captions with the sentence starter “Esta es mi cara cuando…”. No prep needed - can be a homework or fun class activity, which can be extended to students searching photos and writing their own captions. Communicative Activity - ¿Qué deporte juegas? ¿Cuándo? students are given a model, and walk around the room asking other what sport they play and when. Students then write down the response of their peer in third person and graph the results of the class. -Links to review websites for the vocabulary (Quizizz) and the Google slides version of the powerpoint. Highly recommend using the link in the resource for the Google Slides version over the Power Point file, also Google slides version will give you access to the other documents as well (how long the Powerpoint will last you, depends on your bell schedule and how long class periods are. This lasted me four full days of school with 55 minute class periods.)

SPAIN COUNTRY FACTS & ACTIVITIES 1

SPAIN COUNTRY FACTS & ACTIVITIES 1

PERFECT FOR INTRODUCING AND EXPLORING THE SPANISH-SPEAKING WORLD! - 20 FASCINATING FACTS CARDS, 28 CHALLENGE CARDS, DIFFERENTIATED WRITING/COMPREHENSION ACTIVITIES AND WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION / DISCUSSION ACTIVITY ABOUT ALL THINGS SPANISH! This resource really does help to create a lively language learning environment, and offer a popular alternative to more traditional, teacher-led ’information about Spain’ lessons. Children can develop their knowledge of SPAIN AND SPANISH - and through guided whole-group discussion - their home/host country too, in a cooperative, communicative and interactive way, in part independently of the teacher. There is a bonus multi-focus on listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing and spelling, and is a great way of aligning language learning with developing literacy skills in English. This resource comprises the following: 20 FACTS CARDS - there are four facts in each of the following five topic groups: GEOGRAPHY, COUNTRY, LANDMARKS, LANGUAGE and FOOD. There are four cards per A4 sheet, making them the perfect size for young learners. The language on each of the cards ranges from fairly basic to more advanced, which challenges and enhances children’s English skills. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 1 - there are 2 options: either 2 or 4 fact recording boxes per A4 page. Children read their selected facts, and copy the information in the boxes. Encourage children to be as accurate as possible with their spelling and punctuation, to pay particular attention to the spelling and accents of the SPANISH words that are included, and of course to make sure they are recording the facts in their best handwriting. WRITING/COMPREHENSION CHALLENGE 2 - there are also 2 options: 2 or 4 fact recording boxes in this challenge level. However, there is a more open-ended task: responding to the question “What did you learn?”. This requires children to read their fact card, process the information, and then recreate it in their own words, describing the fact in the context of what they have learned. 28 DIFFERENTIATED COMPREHENSION TASK CARDS, with answer sheet WHOLE-GROUP PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION ACTIVITY, with every fact included in the presentation resource - I’ve found this a really useful means of encouraging and stimulating classroom discussion. Children can reflect on what they already know about SPAIN, and share it with their peers. Use the facts themselves to prompt discussion about the home/host country, eg “What is our capital city? Is it also our largest city?”, which really does create a successful cross-curricular learning environment. This pack comprises 6 non-editable files in a zipped format. Please read the TERMS OF USE carefully - the pack is copyright, and for single-teacher/purchaser use only. ¡MUCHAS GRACIAS Y BUEN VIAJE!
