12 Mark Question Revision Guide

12 Mark Question Revision Guide

This is a resource aimed at helping pupils to improve their scores in 12 mark questions in the AQA Religious Studies GCSE. It is intended to be used either in class or for homework, once per week. Pupils complete a question, are encouraged to review it and the teacher gives one targeted piece of feedback, to be integrated to the next attempt. This takes the hassle out of setting home work and really gets pupils to think carefully about their skills and progress. It has questions in it aimed at AQA Christianity and Islam, with themes B, C, D & E but could EASILY be configured to match your religion and theme choice. I have been using this now for more than five years and the impact on pupil scores has been excellent. Especially good for HoDs working with non-specialists who need guidance and structure. It includes the mark scheme, a model answer and tips for pushing for the top band scores.

AQA new spec A GCSE RE Trivial Pursuit style game

AQA new spec A GCSE RE Trivial Pursuit style game

This is specifically for the Christianity beliefs, practices and ethical issues paper. It replaces my previous game for the old spec B. The game follows the format of Trivial Pursuit. The game board needs to be expanded to A3. The Question cards will need to be printed back to back, and cut out, I use different coloured card for each topic. Student instructions included. All you need to provide are dice and some simple playing pieces. This game is an ideal way for the students to revise for the shorter knowledge based questions and to learn christian quotes to use in the longer 5 and 12 mark questions. You can adapt any of the cards to suit your curriculum.
