Do you need a fun and interesting activity for your students during Black History Month?
Have them create a poster!
I have created poster templates for 25 influential men and women. There are 2 poster styles to choose from for each person. Therefore, 50 posters in total!
Students choose a poster. They complete the writing activities for their person and color it. Then you can color the BLACK HISTORY MONTH letters provided and create an inspirational and informative bulletin board.
Who are the 25 inspirational men and women?
Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Sarah E. Goode, Sojourner Truth, Coretta Scott King, Ruby Bridges, Oprah Winfrey
Jackie Robinson, Jesse Owens, Booker T. Washington, Ben Carson, Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, George Washington Carver, Colin Powell, Benjamin Banneke, Bill Pickett, Frederick Douglass, Langston Hughes, Marcus Garvey, Tuskegee Airmen, Thurgood Marshall, Barack Obama, Kobe Bryant and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
What students need:
poster template and coloring pencils
they will have to do some research to complete the writing activities on the poster.
Examples of writing activities: one word to describe this person, how did this person change the world, 3 things I know about this person, 3 contributions this person made to society, this is what I learned from this person.
Please look at the preview.
These posters need to be printed on 8.5" x 14" (legal) sized paper. Otherwise, the posters will be small!
