Primary school or SEN School Competition (Art, DT, English, PE & History)

This resource would work so well in a special school setting or a Primary School Setting. The idea is that any students level of work is celebrated across a range of subjects as varied as DT, English, Art, PE and History. This internal competition has been well received by staff, students , parents and Ofsted alike. Each day would have a specific focus (e.g. Monday-Baking) and groups would be pitted against each other in a school to try and win points for their internal house or trophies/medals for their class. Will help with getting students to practice their class based skills in a friendly competitive environment. The outline will help provide a guide to the week and the session plans will help you get the week running as soon as you download it. Would link well with any historical event.

Badminton Resources

A resource for delivering Key Stage 4 Badminton. The lessons take a Sport Education focus to them with the aim of promoting the students to be more independent in the sessions and promoting them managing their own efforts. The resource has five very detailed individual lesson plans. Once the first five lessons have been delivered the format can be maintained for the rest of a term with the students becoming ingrained in the processes involved in the sessions such as setting up the equipment, sharing court time and refereeing. This resource includes an order of play, match rules, referees guide in addition to the lesson plans.

Individual Rugby, Football and Gymnastic Lesson Plans

(0)
This resource bundle provides 9 very detailed individual lesson plans for Gymnastics (4 plans), Rugby (3 Plans) and Football (2 Plans). The lesson plans have been written for those beginning these three sports in year 7 (Key Stage 3) for the first time. All lesson plans have a cover sheet with over 7 learning objectives for each session to choose from. This resource would work well with a PGCE student, NQT or a teacher teaching these subjects for the first time.
Archery Risk Assessment

Archery Risk Assessment

A risk assessment created many years ago when an Archery club visited and ran a session with some pupils (within a SEN school). Hope it may still be of use to someone or a starting point for writing a risk assessment,
Bashball

Bashball

This resource is a lesson plan for an adapted SEN Team Game: Bashball. Bashball is essentially Rounders but without the bat or hard ball. Instead Bashball encourages the ‘basher’ to either kick or throw softer balls (e.g. size 4 football) from the ‘Basher spot’. Bashball can happen indoors or outdoors and works well for pupils who may find team sports or ball games difficult.
Rock Climbing

A rock climbing lesson plan. Just an initial lesson plan which could be taught by teachers that have a traverse wall. Session aims focus on heel hooks and also looking at making a figure of 8 knot- a skill needed for when progressing to a full wall. This lesson was initially taught for pupils at a Special Education Needs school but could work with KS2 & KS3 pupils in mainstream schools.
