KS2 / KS3 Drama - Elf - The Play Script (Christmas Play)

(3)
Elf tells the story of ‘Buddy the Elf’ who was accidentally taken to the North Pole in Santa’s sack one Christmas Eve. He stayed in the North Pole until adulthood and grew up thinking he was an elf himself. One day he found out he was a human, and decided to go and visit his biological father in New York. On arrival he wasn’t welcomed by his father until a DNA test reassured him that he was actually his son. The family grew to like Buddy, and he also found a girlfriend – but then everything changed when he fell out with his father one day and decided to leave. But as he was walking alone he heard a crash in Central Park, when he went to investigate he noticed it was his good friend, Santa. The family caught up with him and realized he had been telling the truth all along, he was in fact an elf from the North Pole. The friends and family all worked together to lift Christmas spirit and thus power Santa’s sleigh to ensure he could finish his deliveries. There are song recommendations throughout the script, with a mixture of traditional Christmas songs and modern songs. There are 20-22 speaking parts, with additional non-speaking roles too. I hope you have fun with it, my class had a ball! The play is around 40-50 minutes long. I also have a few more Christmas play scripts in my store including: The Santa Clause:https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks2-ks3-drama-the-santa-clause-play-script-christmas-play-11771935 A Christmas Carol (A School Remix): https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks2-ks3-drama-drama-a-christmas-carol-a-school-remix-play-script-11998521 A Christmas Carol (Traditional Version): https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/ks2-ks3-drama-a-christmas-carol-a-traditional-version-play-script-12008479

This is a biography writing unit about the life of Anne Frank. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Perfect for students in Year 5 or Year 6. The first lesson is interactive and involves them cutting out facts, and then sorting these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to write four paragraphs about her early life, life in the secret annex, the concentration camps & her death, and finally her diary. In the third lesson children need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before writing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work into a neat copy on the template provided. NO PREP is needed - and the unit includes four lessons. Good luck, I hope you get some great results! If you would like to add another lesson, download my Anne Frank Reading Comprehension Activity for just £1.50. This would give the students more background knowledge before they start writing the biography. For more great resources check out Creative Primary Literacy!
