This spring-themed graphing and data pack is a fun way to practice reading data and analyzing graphs. Students can practice their addition facts as well. In addition, students can work on their word problem comprehension while answering the questions regarding the graphs. It can help build a wider vocabulary too. You can use these worksheets in small groups (roll and graph game), in rotations or send them home as homework. You can find the following activities in this pack: Roll and graph: (NO black and white version included) Dice Print dice. Glue it on a piece of cardboard (easier to glue it together, it is sturdier and easier for students to roll) Cut along solid lines with a cutter knife and fold along dotted lines after going over the lines with the dull edge of the cutter (helps by folding). For extra support put some sticky tape over the edges too. 10 Grid Print and laminate page for durability. Students can make predictions before the game which fruit is going to win. Students roll the dice and tick the box of the item they rolled. The first item with 10 ticks wins. Questions Print and laminate page for durability. Students record the result of the game. Firstly, they tally and then write the numeral down under the spring symbols, then they compare the ticks the symbols got. Lastly, they use the number of ticks for each item for adding the numbers together. I spy spring: (NO black and white version included) 2 sheets with activities as follows: Students will use tally marks and numbers to show how many are there of 1 item. Students will color the bar graph to show the data Students will answer the questions using the bar graph Students will put a T for true and F for false after the statements about the bar graph. Teaching CVC words to students is very important as it shows them how they can blend single sounds together to create words. This phonics pack is to support this very important skill in a fun way. Students pretend to be phonics detectives to crack codes, find words hidden in a word search grid or manipulate words to make a word chain. By purchasing this resource you receive the activities as follows: Basketball sorting (Black and white version included) – 9 CVC words for each short vowel Students sort the basketballs according to the short vowel in the middle. The CVC words are written in a code. They can crack the code with the key provided at the end of this section. Once they did, they can place the card (basketball up) onto the basketball loops. For handwriting practice there are 2 options provided, a box-it version and blank lines. PLEASE NOTE: You can print the mystery words back-to-back onto the basketballs. The box-it version is not meant to be printed back-to-back with the mystery words. They can be printed back-to-back with the basketballs though. Crack the Code – Mystery word (Black and white version only for students to color in the pictures) Students identify the word for the pictures and swap the crossed out letter for the one provided, and write down the mystery word. (if the new letter is in front of the picture then they swap the beginning sound and if the letter is behind the picture they swap the ending sound) Word chain Students write down the words changing ONLY 1 letter every step to get from the first word to the last one. 2 versions are included: 4 word chain tasks on 1 page to hand out to students 2 word chain tasks on 1 page for you to use as a classroom copy Word search Students find and mark the CVC words from the word bank in the grid. CVC descriptions (Challenge 1) Students read the descriptions and find the answer from the words in the word bank provided.
