A checklist designed to help GCSE students write a detailed poetry analysis.

A complete PowerPoint with resources for a term’s study of Macbeth. This was delivered to Y8 and focuses on key scenes which track the character development of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth. It uses extracts and key quotations to develop language analysis skills. It also includes creative writing tasks to demonstrate writing from a perspective and ends with a speaking and listening style group task.

This SOW was designed for the third term in Y9 for BTEC Enterprise students but it could easily be used and adapted for other year groups, cross-curricular projects or in house drop down days. A document containing a large number of key quotaitons from Frankenstein. The document is split into characters so students can easily see who says the quotation / which section of the frame narrative is appears in.

Designed for Y9/10 business studies students (but would also work for media). A mini independent project where students look at the development of TikTok and how businesses are using it to develop their brands / reach customers. Students are then required to imagine they are employed by a brand of their choice (from a selection of 10 included in the PowerPoint) and create their own social media campaign to promote that brand. They need to produce: A 15 second challenge video A brand takeover advertisement A hashtag to be used on both the video and brand takeover ad An interactive brand lense A detailed summary sheet which explains their marketing choices, how it presents the brand and how it meets their target customers. Both the PowerPoint and summary sheet template are included in this download. Perfect for distance learning projects or a fun end of term group task if prefered.

A complete curriculum road map designed around a 3 year GCSE programme, but using Y9 as an introductory year. Created using the specification for the BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise and allowing for a February entry to exams in Y11. This road map correlates to the termly SOW being uploaded as well.

This ia a 12 page Knowledge Organiser / Revision Tool for students to use as homework / independent revision. It is primarily designed with the BTEC Technical Award in Enterprise in mind, but contains various topics on advertising, market research, finance, business skills, customer service etc., so could be used for other business courses as well. There are a series of case studies included which also focus on key areas of business such as PEST analysis and Social Media Marketing. The final page contains some ‘mock exam’ style tasks.

This booklet was made for an SEN year 7 group to teach various skills such as character comparisons, understanding settings and sequencing. It is based on the story of Rumpelstiltskin which is read before commencing with the booklet.

This SOW has been written for a mixed ability Year 7 class but could be developed to suit all ability groups. It will also be suitable for year 8 groups in some cases. The poems explored were chosen to demonstrate view points and perspectives which are not always explored in ‘traditional’ poetry SOW. They also focus, predominantly, on modern poetry so students can experience war poetry of their generation. The title of the poem is also the title of the lesson so they can be easily accessed. A final assessment has been outlined in the SOW. A full lesson on the Danger of Knowledge in Frankenstein, using an extract from Chapter 20. It includes a slide dissecting the essay question (based on AQA Literature).

This is a full SOW with resources created for a top set Y8 group. It is written using differentiated success criteria that links to the AQA GCSE specification. It explores the gothic as a genre and introduces extracts from other texts. The assessment isn’t included as they are produced externally in workbooks but it was the write a formal letter to the local council to prevent Dracula moving to their local town.

These resources aim to teach the principles of writing to persuade using the acronym 'A FOREST'. The first resource is to assess the knowledge students already have which is then used to reassess the knowledge gained during the lesson to help with formative assessments. Students then read through the persuasive writing information sheet before completing the worksheet (I stick the examples around the room for students to find). I then either get students to make a poster using the techniques or give them a pre-made one to identify techniques, dependent on ability.

I made this workbook to help my SEN year 11 group develop their understanding of basic English skills and techniques. Some topics we studies straight from the workbook, others were used before or after a targeted lesson on a specific topic. Some pages link specifically with Entry English controlled assessment tasks and others link to the iGCSE language exam.
