This 26-slide PowerPoint presentation was created and used to teach introduce students to Viktor Frankl’s Logotherapy in a University classroom. It has been designed with both the student (aesthetics) and teacher (flow of ideas, overall structure) in mind. This is a wonderful presentation for either a psychology or philosophy classroom, and is great for Meaning of Life discussions. The lecture covers the following (as shown on second slide): Who was Viktor Frankl? Summary Statement Nuts & Bolts of Logotherapy Important Terms in Logotherapy Meaning of Sex in Logotherapy Aim of Therapy Students can be assigned this abridged reading: Man’s Search for Meaning. Most of the material in this lecture focuses on the material from the beginning of Part 2 “Logotherapy in a Nutshell” (p. 101 of book; p. 54 of PDF) to the section titled “Meta-Clinical Problems” (p. 119 of book; p. 71 of PDF).

Introduction to Christian Ethics - Part I (PowerPoint)

(0)
This 41-slide PowerPoint presentation is carefully crafted to be aesthetically pleasing, engaging, informative, but not “cluttered.” This presentation is based on the first chapter in Wayne Grudem’s Christian Ethics. It is the first in a series of four PowerPoints (others are forthcoming and will be completed by the end of February 2021). A very detailed preview has been uploaded. While much of the text has been removed, each’s slide’s title has been left so that you can get a good idea of what is addressed in this PowerPoint. Other material has also been included to supplement some of Grudem’s main points. The PowerPoint works through the chapter in order, and while very organized, is created to have more of an organic flow so that each slide naturally follows the preceding slide. Wayne Grudem is a conservative evangelical (and Reformed to be more specific) Christian and scholar. He believes that the Bible is inerrant, and believes that Christian Ethics ought to be conducted with this in mind. However, as he points out and as this presentation elucidates, there are other approaches to ethics in Christianity.

The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (PPTX) - Intro & Theological Symbolism

(0)
This 46-slide PowerPoint has been crafted with care to introduce students to C.S. Lewis’ masterpiece, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. It is designed to cover the following: About the Book Main Characters Major Events Theological Symbolism & Reflections (major focus of this presentation) This Powerpoint goes into great detail to help students make connections between what occurs in this book and the Christian faith. Theological topics such as the relation between the Law (the Deep Magic) and the Gospel, substitutionary atonement (Aslan’s death and the Deeper Magic), Satan (White Witch, who was Queen Jadis in The Magician’s Nephew), Christ (Aslan), The Emperor of the Sea (God the Father in the Triune Godhead), the temple veil that was torn upon Christ’s death and what this meant (the splitting of the stone table), and several other topics are addressed in detail in relation to this charming and rich narrative. The point is to help students make connections that Lewis probably had in mind. Bible verses are also used where necessary to make a connection. The overall aesthetic is professional, engaging, consists of just the right amount of text (neither too much nor too little), and contains a logical flow of ideas that I consider optimal for teaching. A worksheet has also been created that corresponds with this PowerPoint.

The Apology - by Plato (PowerPoint)

This 20-slide lecture is informative, aesthetically pleasing, and intentionally designed so that one slide naturally follows from the other. The Apology is one of 42 dialogues that Plato writes. It is one of his early dialogues, meaning that it actually gives us a glimpse into the historical Socrates as opposed to the middle and later dialogues where Plato only uses Socrates as a mouthpiece to communicate his (Plato) own ideas. This powerpoint covers the following topics: What is the overall theme of the Apology? Who was Plato? Major Themes Wisdom is knowing that you don’t know Knowing one’s limits is key Virtue is Knowledge Death is not to be feared Socrates’ concern for his sons

This 22-slide PowerPoint presentation is designed to teach, engage, and please the eye. It has been developed carefully to accompany the following chapter in C.S. Lewis’ book, Mere Christianity: “We Have Cause to be Uneasy.” The presentation has been designed with the teacher in mind. The flow of ideas is logical, and will help teachers walk through the chapter in an easy, efficient, and engaging manner. Also, significant effort was spent to give the student a bird’s-eye view of what Lewis is attempting to accomplish so that the student understands what Lewis is doing rather than only appreciating some of his individual statements.

C.S. Lewis - Mere Christianity PPTX (Book 1, Chapter 4)

(0)
This 17-slide PowerPoint is designed to teach, engage, and please the eye! This is the fifth PowerPoint in the series. It covers chapter four of Book 1 in Mere Christianity. In this chapter, Lewis makes the point that the religious view (as opposed to the materialist view or the Life-Force view) offers the best explanation of the Law of Human Nature. Although he ends the chapter by saying that he is not within 100 miles of the God of Christian theology, he is well on his way. This presentation is designed with the teacher in mind. One slide follows seamlessly from the previous one, and will make teaching this chapter easy, efficient, and effective!
