What was life like in Nazi Germany? Suitable for KS3 and can be adapted for KS2, students will look at what life was like in Nazi Germany for different groups of people by analysing a variety of different sources (photos, posters, and written text). Sources are colour coded to support weaker students. They will sort this information into a table and then judge overall what life was life in Nazi Germany, deciding if some groups had better lives that others. For teaching Medicine Through Time GCSE This lesson was at the request of my students after studying Florence Nightingale, they were eager to learn about Mary Seacole and other important women in medical history. This lesson looks at Mary Seacole and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (as well as noting Florence Nightingale, but she will have been studied in depth separately). This is a fun and interesting lesson for your GCSE class to provide them with additional learning outside of the textbook. All resources are included but it would be useful to have a textbook for information on Mary Seacole (I used the OCR book). You easily find the information online.
