This is an fantastic assembly that explores the current Gender Pay Gap in the UK and the reasons why there is still a gap. The assembly covers: -Life for women 100 years ago compared to today -History of the gender pay gap -Reasons why there is still a gap today -Gender pay gap around the world -Case study - Iceland -What can be done about the gap today -Video and quotes This is a powerful and important message that all young people need to hear. This assembly was delivered to year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. It could easily be delivered to KS2 or KS5. This assembly was observed and rated as outstanding for its content, message, visuals and delivery.

This is an outstanding assembly about the future and the choices students will have to make to get ahead of the competition. This is a perfect assembly for student building up to their exams. The assembly gets them to think like employers and ask them who they would choose when faced with three applicants and ten different areas. For each area (such as punctuality, references, experience, appearance etc.) the students are presented with three options and they have to pick the one they think would make the best impression. The point being these are all situations they may well be faced with in the future and they need to make the right choices to get ahead. This assembly also includes a video (which is optional based on how much time you have) as well as a powerful message. This assembly was delivered to year 11 and year 13 but would also be suitable for KS3. The assmbly should take about 15 to 20 min to deliver (less if you don’t show the video clip).

This is based on the popular New York Times Game Connections this fun revision game is designed to help the students to prepare for the exams or end of year assessments. **This is a fantastic assembly designed to deal with the issue of Gossip or rumours in a school context. ** It was observed by Ofsted and they said it was Outstanding This assembly looks at: -The definition of gossip -Where the term comes from -Why people gossip -What surveys show about gossip in the UK today -What the impact of gossip is -How it can be avoided -6 tips to reduced gossip The assembly can be a straight forward teacher presentation or you can include some audience participation (Q&As, a demonstration of gossip, a quick survey) There are notes under every slide to help the presenter. This lesson looks at sources from the time of Jack the Ripper to understand why it was so difficult to prevent these crimes let alone catch the killer. The students will learn how to analyse sources and work on key the key historical skill of source analysis. The focus of the lesson is on inferences with the students using original sources to learn why solving crimes in the Victorian period was so tricky. NOTE - This was created at the beginning of March 2020, so you may need to update the figures on a couple of the slides to give the most up to date information.

This Anti-Racism assembly or tutor time presentation is a very popular and highly effective assembly looking at the root causes of racism. It also highlights why racism is ridiculous and what we can do about it. It highlights many of the major stories in the world today (from Brexit to Megxit to Trump to the refugee crisis) to show how they all have a racist background (You may wish to update this slide with the latest stories of the day, but that is up to you). The assembly also looks at DNA and how we are all interconnected in ways we aren’t full aware of. This include a fantastic video which explains our DNA journey. It includes tips on how to combat racism and quotes about race (from Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King) A thought provoking but really interesting assembly.

This assembly or tutor time presentation covers the history of anti-semitism and the reason why HMD was established. It includes a script (in the notes under each slide and in a seperate document) which explains each slide clearly but in some detail. It covers the 2023 HMD theme ‘Ordinary People’ and covers its relevance in the world today. The presentation looks at the reasons for anti-semitism and how this racism was turned from prejudice, to discrimination, to persecution, to genocide. It also looks at more recent genocides in the 20th and 21st centuries, and discusses why people still hold racist attitudes and ideas today. It finishes by looking at what we can do to combat racism in our every day lives. A really interesting, well presented and well made assembly.
