Write Dance Overview - When to teach what when

(0)
As a teacher I can see the benefits of teaching Write Dance to my reception class. It is not always possible to fit in the sessions on a regular basis. I have put together a overview breaking down the stories. This can be taught once a week or more. On the word document I have broken down the sessions and provided a page number. On the last page I have broken down the Volcano story so you can see what one lesson would look like. I have followed this overview myself and it ensures consistency across classes when you work in a larger school. There is an assessment sheet I have designed seperately to see the progress in Write Dance.

Write Dance Assessment Sheet

This is an assessment sheet to complete with your class before starting the Write Dance Scheme. This can be completed as little or often you would like too. I have been using this assessment sheet every 6 weeks. The boxes are colour coded so you can assess the class as a whole to save time. I have explained to my reception children put your finger in the green box and copy what I have modelled on the board. Then repeat for the different coloured boxes. **This breakdown is based on the Purple Write Dance book only. **
