Food Exam

(1)
This lesson with handout focuses on preparing food students for their written exam and is suitable for year 9, 10 and 11 students (AQA and EDUQAS). The PPT comes with a workbook and handout for students to complete mock questions. The PPT includes tips on answering questions, mock questions, model answers and the mark scheme. **Exam PPT: ** What to expect in the exam Introducing command words - lists the command words found in the food exams- anything from identify to discuss and provides clear definitions. Example food questions (for section B) and answers focusing on 3 different command words. Once the teacher has shown the model answer, they then have the opportunity to refer to the mark scheme (already included in PPT) for that specific answer. If they then “right click” the answer will appear, but this time highlighting the specific content which meets the mark scheme. Revision techniques I have also included the example questions as a separate handout which you can provide to your students. You could allow them the time to answer the questions prior to showing them with the mark scheme and model answers. Perfect task for students to complete and to learn how to answer the questions prior to starting revision, passed papers and moving onto the question booklet. Workbook: Includes food exam questions (from section B) using different command words/variety of marks…including long answer questions. Guides students on highlighting the command word, identifying the important information and jotting down a plan prior to answering the question. (Space has been provided by the question to do this) mark scheme provided Prompts students to re-write any questions to show improvement. Space has been dedicated to this. Students can then refer back to these as model answers. I have stated that this is useful for both AQA and Eduqas exam boards. Please note I have incorporated 2 seperate slides showing different information for AQA and EDUQAS (for section A). Please note these resources do not focus on section A of the exam paper, instead on section B.
