As an outstanding smaller school, we prioritise knowing our students and ensuring they feel happy and supported. Their journey starts in ‘The Bridge’, a specially designed area with social and teaching spaces. Here, Year 7 experts provide high academic standards, including Latin and Classics, with personalised timetables and small group lessons for rapid progress.

We focus on whole-child development through our extensive, free enrichment programme. This includes Sport, Performance, Academic, and Service opportunities, keeping students engaged during breaks, lunchtimes, and after school.

Barr’s Hill passionately believes in “Building Brighter Futures”, and everything the school does is focused on doing just that for the students and community. The school has a “no barriers” ethos, meaning pupils of all different backgrounds and abilities are all encouraged to work hard to achieve the highest goals they can set themselves.

Our passionate staff ensure success at every stage, culminating in Post-16 Select, our popular sixth form. Last year, 97% of Post-16 students progressed to university, with the rest entering top apprenticeships. Over a quarter went to prestigious Russell Group Universities, including Oxford, Warwick, and King’s College London.
